The Zoo Gets a Second Rhino?!?

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has a second rhino - and he doesn't eat much. It's a life-sized male rhino sculpture! He is similar in size and appearance to Jumbe, the current resident black rhino, but he will definitely require less care and clean-up from animal keepers.

There are two new meerkats in Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's mob. Mojita and Kamikazi are new arrivals to the mountain. If you've visited the Zoo during Encounter Africa's Work-in-Progress preview, you probably saw them in the new west meerkat exhibit.

Celebrate with your fellow Zoo members the opening of our newest exhibit, Encounter Africa! This will be a great opportunity to experience the Zoo in the evening and to visit the elephants, rhino, and meerkats.
There will be scheduled elephant demonstrations and enrichment in Encounter Africa throughout the evening. All exhibits will be open; food and drink will be available for purchase at Grizzly Grill, Elson's Place, and Thundergod Gift Shop. Reservations are not required. Stay tuned for more details.
