There's a new café at the Zoo! The menu at Elson's Place caters to morning guests and to those who like to eat their favorite breakfast food all day long. The new eatery is located in Safari Lodge, across from the new lion exhibit.

Preparing Lionesses for Motherhood

Imagine having to find and remove a grain of rice somewhere beneath the thick skin of a lioness. It's a bit like locating a needle in a haystack, according to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo veterinarians who recently removed several rice-sized birth control implants from two of our female lions.

Staff Member Assists Amphibians in Panama

Jeff Baughman, Conservation Highlands Animal Keeper, recently traveled to Gamboa, Panama to assist in equipping amphibian isolation pods with water filtration systems, misting systems and glass tanks for Panama Amphibian Rescue and Conservation project (PARC).
