| Sister Ida completes her life of service in Christ |

Sister Ida Bursch, long-time employee at Catholic Charities St. Cloud Children's Home recently completed her journey to the Lord. She humbly served with us for
over 40 years, retiring only when her body would no longer allow her to serve. (Read her full obituary.)
Ida's retirement marked the end of an era that began with the founding of the Children's Home in 1924. At that time, (and even prior) the Franciscan Sisters were charged with the care of orphans in the Diocese of St. Cloud. Gradually, as the care provided at the Children's Home became more specialized, Catholic Charities staff stepped in to provide that care.
Sister Ida though, persisted with her humble ministry of faith and service. Before washers and dryers were donated so the children could learn to do their own laundry, their clothes were cleaned, dried and folded every day by Sister Ida. She also took painstaking care of the Children's Home Chapel where her shoes and apron still rest today.
