This Week at Grace

Celebrating Global Mission Fellows

Dear Grace,

Believe it or not, it's nearly August! That means minds are turned to a new school year and a new year of exciting ministry partnerships with our new neighbors, Global Ministries! As we get ready to welcome Global Ministries to their new full-time home in Atlanta, I want to let you know about an upcoming opportunity to celebrate one of the mission agency's vital ministries.

Over the last two weeks, Global Ministries has been gathering and training this year's class of Global Mission Fellows. This group of young adults ages 20-30 will engage in two-year mission engagements, both internationally and within the United States. Global Mission Fellows are invited to engage with local communities, connect the church in mission, and grow in personal and social holiness. This program allows for transformation and leadership development to take place while addressing roots of social injustices with other young people from around the world.

This coming Sunday, July 17th, Grace is privileged to welcome this year's Global Mission Fellows as we celebrate their ministry in our 11:00 AM worship service. We'll get to meet some of these extraordinary young people, learn about their mission fields, and offer our prayers and blessings on their ministries. We're also blessed to hear from one of Grace's newest members, Janjay Innis, who will preach this week. Janjay is a Mission Advocate for Young Adult Mission Service for Global Ministries and will share God's good news through the lens of one who has served as a mission fellow with the United Methodist Church.

We hope you will join us in worship this Sunday, July 17th as we extend a warm Grace UMC welcome to Global Ministries' Global Mission Fellows!

Grace and peace,

Calissa

P.S.  - As a reminder, Pastor Kate is away through this Saturday, July 16th, serving as a delegate to the Jurisdictional Conference of The UMC. If you have a pastoral care need or emergency during this time, please contact Rev. Anjie Peek Woodworth (404.502.5302).

INTERFAITH MEAL & CONVERSATIONS
Wednesday, July 27th, 6pm, Grace Cafe

Have you RSVP'd yet for an informal meal with Atlanta-area Muslims?

In the spring, many people from Grace gathered for a study on Islam, entitled "Loving Our Muslim Neighbor." Our learning together inspired us to form relationships with Muslims in our community.

So, we invite you to share a meal and conversation as we get to know each other so that love may increase.

All are welcome! Dinner is free, but donations are welcomed to defray costs. RSVP today to candi: office@graceonponce.org or 404.876.2678.
