This Week at Grace

Spirit-filled July

Dear Grace,

July is upon us! And what a July it will be at Grace church. We have a myriad of opportunities for you to worship, welcome new people, learn, serve and break bread together. Put the following events on your calendar and join us this July as we live out our mission to Feed, Reach and Welcome:

Sunday July 3rd-Holiday Hymn Sing
Come for worship this holiday weekend ready to sing your heart out. You have been requesting your favorite hymns over the last month and this is your time to make a joyful noise! If you are in town, we invite you to sit close to the front of the sanctuary. With many folks traveling, attendance will likely be lighter. Additionally, we sing better together when we are actually near one another.

Meet and Greet for Michael Dauterman
July 10th and 17th, 10:15-10:45am, Grace Café
Michael Dauterman, Grace's new Minister of Music and Worship Arts, begins Sunday July 10th. Come by the Grace café before worship to meet Michael, get to know him, and welcome him to Grace!

Global Missions Fellows in Worship
Sunday, July 17th
On July 17th, Grace has the privilege of welcoming Global Ministries' newest class of Global Missions Fellows in worship. The Fellows are young adults, age 20-30, who commit to serve long-term (2 years) in a mission placement, both in The United States and around the globe. This newest class will be trained at Emory this summer, and for their inaugural weekend in Atlanta want to be part of the Grace community. We will welcome them in worship, celebrate their ministries, and pray for them as they commit to their time of service. Come for worship, invite others, and stay for a reception following to talk individually with the fellows about their lives and where they are called to go.

Mid-year Financial Update
Sunday, July 24th, 12:15pm
Interested in where Grace stands financially after the first half of 2016? Stay for a brief update on Grace's finances on the 24th following worship to hear about where we stand and ask any questions you may have. As always, Grace's finances are an open book. You can contact Nora Harris, Grace's financial administrator (NHarris@graceonponce.org) or Jennifer Newman, Grace's Finance Chair (jennifernewmanatl@gmail.com) with questions or information.

Breaking Bread Together: Interfaith Meal and Conversation
Wednesday, July 27th, 6pm, Grace Café

In the spring, many people from Grace gathered for a study on Islam, entitled "Loving our Muslim Neighbor." Our learning together inspired us to form relationships with Muslims in our community, and so you are invited for an informal meal with Atlanta area Muslims. We will eat together, talk, and get to know one another so that love may increase. All are welcome. Please RSVP to candi if you plan to come: office@graceonponce.org.

Join us for a spirit-filled July and think about who you can invite! Traveling mercies to all of you hitting the road for the holiday weekend.

Grace and peace,

Kate
