This Week at Grace

The Movement of God's Grace
Dear Grace,

O sing to the Lord a new song;
   sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless God's name;
   tell of God's salvation from day to day.

The Psalmist invites us to sing new songs to God, and to sing God's praises continually. We have been in a season of new songs at Grace as we continue in our music ministry transition. I want to share with you an update on where we are and what to expect over the next few months:

June 26th: Chuck Bell's Last Sunday
We have been blessed with Chuck Bell's interim ministry with us (as well as the gifts of his daughters, Lucy and Blakely!) and he will continue to lead music through the end of this month.

July 3rd: Holiday Weekend Hymn-Sing!
On Sunday July 3rd, join Grace for a service filled with singing. What's your favorite hymn to sing? Love belting out Amazing Grace? Or is Great is Thy Faithfulness more your style? We want to know what YOU want to sing. E-mail your three favorite hymns to candi ([email protected]) by Friday June 24th. We'll tally-up the top vote-getters and be ready to sing them together on July 3rd at 11am.

July 10th: Michael Dauterman's First Sunday
Michael Dauterman will officially begin on Sunday, July 10th. As we get closer, look for ways to welcome Michael to Grace and be in prayer for him as he makes this transition.

This week is the North GA Annual Conference of The UMC in Athens. Clergy and laity are gathered from every church and ministry to sing God's praises, take care of the business of the church, commission and ordain candidates for ministry, celebrate those who are retiring and remember those who have died in the last year. It is a sacred time of Holy Conferencing and we appreciate your prayers, especially those from Grace in attendance this week:  Richard (Grace lay delegate) and Della Black; Kyle Tau (District Rep. at-large); Michelle Levan (Conference Staff).

See you for worship on Sunday at 11am, ready to sing praises to God, and think about who you can invite!

Grace and Peace,

Kate
