First a howling blizzard woke us,
Then the rain came down to soak us,
And now before the eye can focus -
Crocus.

Here's a bit of déjà vu:

A year ago, I began the March HeartMatters newsletter with the words "After hesitating in the doorway for an unconscionably long while, that coy lady, spring, has finally stepped across the threshold here in the Berkshires."

Well, here we are again. Still a fair bit of snow on the ground, but we're taking it on faith that spring will eventually arrive.

You can't see Canada across Lake Erie, but you  know it's there.
It's the same with spring. You have to have faith,
especially in Cleveland.
~ Paul Fleischman

It's my belief that the same is true of love. It may show up on our preferred schedule. Or it may take its own sweet time. But even the waiting can be sweet. And no matter when it does arrive, love is surely the springtime of the soul.

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

~Percy Bysshe Shelley

Wishing you all the joys of springtime, across your landscape and in your heart as well!
