No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.
~ Thomas Jefferson

Greetings!,
Do you remember those old-timey movies that represented the passage of time by an image of pages flying off a calendar?
That's what 2012 felt like to me, and to many of my friends. Maybe someday someone will invent a time machine that doesn't convey you to the past or to the future but allows you to linger in the present. |
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
~ Abraham Lincoln

Oh, wait a minute. I think there already is such a time machine. It's called Life (the Way We're Meant to Live It). The problem is that so often we forget to step on board. If I resolve to do just one thing in the year to come, it's to take especially good care of my Very Own Now: to nurture it and cherish it and use it as wisely as I can.

True happiness is... to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.
~ Seneca

Most days we tear off just one page. Once a year we get to hang up a whole new calendar. It's a powerful symbol, reminding us that many things are accomplished by starting over. And over. And over again.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
~ C. S. Lewis

As we ring out the old and bring in the new, I send you my warmest wishes for joy, harmony, health, good fortune, perseverance, and love.
