The Leaves Are Changing, Apples Are Ripe and the Days Are Growing Shorter -- Well, by the Day

For some, that means it's time for you to head for warmer climates; for others, to get your coach ready for its winter nap -- in which case you should consult your Operator's Manual as well as these Service Tips, courtesy of the WIT Club News.

You'll also find a Reader Tip about securing wheel covers below. Speaking of which, if you've got a tip to share with others, or a good camping recipe or story, we'd love to hear from you!

Dealer Days Roundup, Part 3

In past issues, we've talked about the Winnebago Forza, the Itasca Solei and the Winnebago Touring Coach Travato, all introduced at our Dealer Days event.

Now we're pleased to present the Winnebago Trend and Itasca Viva!, two all-new Class C coaches designed to take full advantage of the new fuel-efficient RAM ProMaster chassis.

Nothing short of revolutionary, the Trend and Viva! combine all-new European styling with a long list of innovative features:

  • The forward-facing dinette and side-facing dinette can be converted into one large sleeping space with the Flex Bed system.
  • The Trend and Viva! are the first coaches in the industry with 3-point seat belts in the dinette.
  • There's also a really cool rear corner bed with a split, height-adjustable mattress for comfortable reading or TV viewing.

Both models also include the type of amenities you've come to expect from us, including a StudioLoft bed with electric lift, powered patio awning, MCD American Solo blackout roller shades, and LED ceiling lights.

They'll be arriving at dealerships shortly; in the meantime, you can learn more here:

Magazine

The
Vista 31KE is featured on the cover of the November issue of MotorHome magazine, and

as these two excerpts show, reviewer Bob Livingston likes what he's seeing:

"This coach is loaded with feature-rich amenities, can sleep a large family, and ... can likely be

purchased for an amount of money that's comparable to the cost of a luxury car."

"The Vista 31KE is not an inexpensive motorhome destined to disappoint. It's pure Winnebago -- and with that comes the comfort in knowing that the coach has the engineering and design prowess behind it to promote good longevity. The value is there and so is the livability ... in a right-size motorhome that's suitable for just about any destination."

Couldn't have said it any better ourselves!

ReaderTipReader Tip

Thanks to Walt Alsegg of New Jersey for this issue's tip on an easy way to secure wheel covers. Walt writes:

"I always put wheel covers on the tires of my Journey to protect them while in storage. The only problem I have is getting the bungee behind the wheel to secure the covers, especially the rear duals. I came up with a very simple solution.

"I use the metal awning rod. I simply put the loop of the bungee in the "hook" of the rod, then pass the rod behind the wheel and pull the cord around with the rod. Works like a charm!"

Thanks, Walt. A small thank-you gift is on its way to you for your contribution. And don't forget to wear eye protection when you're stretching those bungee cords!
MetroLink
It's a winner!

Remember the Metro Link -- the new bus we introduced to you in a previous issue? Well, we're proud to announce it earned "Best in Show" at the BusCon Expo 2013 in Chicago. The stars of the show were three new Metro Link models -- a public transit, airport, and a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas Powered) version bus.

Commented Terry Tweeten, Director of Specialty Vehicles, "We were very honored to receive the Best in Show award. We had great response to our new products and were very pleased with the traffic in our display throughout the show."
