PET BLESSING: FAMILY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH
It won't be long now and we'll celebrate Saint Francis with the Blessing of the Animals at September 30th's Family Friday at 7:45 a.m. You are welcome to bring your socially-friendly pet to join us. We anticipate pets of many types to be present, so please consider whether your pet "plays well with others". Students that have pets that would not do well in this environment or cannot attend for any reason are welcome to bring in a photo of their pet to our blessing. The ceremony will take place in the courtyard between the two school buildings unless the weather is uncooperative.

We ask you to plan now to get your pets groomed (bathed), brushed, deodorized, and "spiffed" up so that they can look their "Sunday best" and join us in worship. If you have an animal that sheds, be sure to brush your pet thoroughly before coming to the blessing. (We may be inside the gym if it rains.) If your sweet pet makes a deposit or leaves a calling card (and you know what we mean), you are asked to be responsible and clean it up (supplies will be available). Finally, we ask folks to keep their pets on leashes or in cages to help our ceremony run smoothly.

As with every school morning we will ask parents that are staying to park in the non-numbered spaces in the Activity Center parking lot. If this area becomes full, please do not park on the street. Additional parking is located on the side of the church building closest to the ramp entrances to the church. Please do not park in the large church parking lot (playground). Morning drop-off will be taking place there.

Grade 4
Fourth grade students in Mrs. Clark's science classes completed their first lab last week.  Students looked at a corn stem, onion epidermis, butterfly antenna, and locust wings under the microscope to see the cells of these organisms, then drew pictures of what they saw.

Ms. Ernstberger's students were working hard in their Google Classroom.

Mrs. Bruggeman read her favorite book called "Pinkalicious" to her first graders.  Her class worked on finding examples of cause and effect in the story.  They couldn't believe that Pinkalicious turned pink after eating too many pink cupcakes!  They especially loved eating pink cupcakes!  It was a sweet day in first grade.

Mrs. Brock and Mrs. Chrisco's class has been working on the main idea and details of a story.  They read stories, watched videos online and researched facts about elephants!  They had a blast and worked so hard.

Mrs. Brock and Mrs. Chrisco's class practiced the skills of counting on and graphing by playing a fun dot cube game!

Grade 3
Mrs. Popp and Mrs. Barnett's classes had a great time on their annual "AG" Day trip to the Clark County 4H Fairgrounds.  The third graders enjoyed looking and learning about animals on their field trip.
