Grade 1
Mrs. Brock and Mrs. Chrisco's class has been working on measuring and comparing objects using nonstandard units (linking cubes) in math.  Fun!!  
 

Mrs. Bruggeman's first graders have been working very hard on learning new math facts!  They have enjoyed playing "Back to Back" on dry erase boards and revealing their sums to their partners.  They have also been busy playing math games to help them master their addition facts.  It's been fun in first grade! 
 
       
Kindergarten
Students in Mrs. Bean's Kindergarten have been working hard creating different projects this year.  This picture shows the students making Pete the Cat.

Grade 4 
Students in Mrs. Clark's 4th grade took advantage of the beautiful weather on Friday and practiced their math outside in the courtyard.

Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay 
Ms. Marcia Ernstberger (4th grade teacher) will be participating in the Indiana Torch Relay next Friday, September 16.  Her leg of the relay is from Highway 62 and Jeffersonville Police Station to the intersection of Thompson Lane & Highway 62.  The "guesstimate" for the start of her leg is 10:00 a.m.
 
Athletics
Students in 6th through 12th grade looking for service hours have the opportunity to volunteer to help with most athletic events hosted by St. John Paul !!  Visit stjohnpaulathletics.org to find more information and the online sign-up link.

The third graders enjoyed the first Family Friday presentation in honor of Labor Day.  They worked hard on representing and describing the work forces in America.


REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING CONFERENCES
Dear Parent,
Each year at the end of the first quarter teachers and parents meet in a fifteen minute session to formally discuss the progress of each child, and answer any questions parents may have. The dates of the Parent/Teacher Conferences this year are Tuesday-Thursday, September 27-29.
We are happy to provide a quick and easy way for you to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences for your child/children.
