MEMORIAL GIFT HELPS MAKE LEARNING FUN IN KINDERGARTEN

The Kindergartners love the new Osmo games systems! Osmo is an award-winning game system that opens up play on an iPad to hands on learning. The Osmo changes the way children interact with the iPad by allowing them to manipulate shapes and letter and number tiles that are recognized by the iPad. (In the photo below you can see that the Osmo has recognized the letter "J" tile.)

The recent purchase of the Osmos was made possible by donations in memory of Aline Smith, life-long St. John Paul II parishioner. Aline's six children attended St. Paul Catholic School. She would be very proud of how our school has kept up with the latest technology for learning!

Grade 2
As one of the activities to prepare for First Holy Communion, Earth and Fire came this week for the second graders to make Blessing Cups.  They had a great time and did an awesome job!

The second grade spent Saturday morning at a First Communion Family Retreat.  They prayed together and each made a beautiful stain glass.

Lent
During Lent, praying the Stations of the Cross has been integrated into our physical education class workouts in grades 3-6.  As students rotate through a 14 station workout, they reflect upon Jesus' journey while completing laborious exercises.  By experiencing physical challenges, students can appreciate more personally what Jesus suffered for us through his passion and death.

The presentation will be held on Wednesday, April 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the St. Paul Activity Center. To ensure enough materials please RSVP by April 11 to Kristina Vogt at kvogt@stjohnpaulparish.org. Questions? Call 246-3969.
Represent JPII While You Are On Spring Break!
While you are relaxing and enjoying some family time on Spring Break, take a minute to snap a pic wearing your St. John Paul II Catholic School spirit wear and submit it to office@stjohnpaulschool.org by Monday, April 11th. We will include pics of students and family members wearing their St. John Paul Catholic School spirit wear in a school newsletter after Spring Break. You do not have to be out of town-just out in public in your JPII School spirit wear. Get creative!

Girls Basketball
The lady knights basketball teams are having a great season! The 3rd/4th grade girls basketball teams are making their presence known.  Two of the teams are undefeated. One team has had one loss and that was by only 1 point! They play their last games Saturday at St. John Paul II. Come out and cheer them on, game times 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
