Annual SpringFest 2016
"Save the Date & Plan to Participate"

It's that time of year again to start organizing for the "2016 SpringFest" which will be held on Sunday, March 6th, at 12:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars and pledge to get involved.
After all, YOU make it possible by donating your talent, time and/or treasures, in the areas noted below.

Class Themes/Donations:  Volunteer to coordinate a basket, and pick the theme!
Once themes have been selected,  items and/or money donations will be collected to create a large themed basket that will be auctioned off at the SpringFest.  All check or money donations will be used to purchase items for the class basket.

Please place all money donations in an envelope marked "Class Theme Donation" along with the name of your child's teacher and grade.  If you would like to donate an item toward a basket, simply drop the item off in the classroom, or contact the Class Basket Volunteer, once assigned.  We hope to receive all donations on, or before, March 4th.

Calling all Volunteers:  Each class will need 1 or 2 gracious parents to coordinate their basket.  If you would like to volunteer please send a note into the office with your contact information (name, phone number, email address, child's name and teacher) and you will be contacted directly via email.

Thanks to those who have already Volunteered and Donated Items!

A special thank you to Alicia McAfee for all her hard work in organizing the night and to Dan McAfee for being our Trivia Game Host! Grade 5 Science
Mrs. Sumpter's fifth grade science classes completed Solar System projects last week.  They had to make a model of the solar system, labeling the main parts and showing that our eight planets orbit around the sun.  The students did an excellent job and were very creative with their projects!

REMINDER: INCLEMENT WEATHER INFORMATION

St. John Paul II Catholic School will use the following procedure for inclement weather days:

To allow St. John Paul II Catholic School to take advantage of the results of the West Clark team's study of road conditions while having the ability to potentially lessen the number of school days missed we will follow this procedure:
  • All St. Paul Catholic School closings, delays, and early dismissals will be announced through the media separate from West Clark.
  • So, our families will look for St. John Paul II Catholic School to be announced on WDRB and WDRB.com.
  • Most of the time we will follow the results of the road condition research completed by West Clark's team. There may be times when it could be judged safe to remain open on a day that West Clark is closed, and announcing our school separately will give us the ability to do this.
  • If St. John Paul II Catholic School is not listed on WDRB, then we would be open.
  • Please look to WDRB News and/or WDRB.com for our closing and delay announcements. This is the only news outlet that will be announcing our closings and delays.
  • WDRB has a free service that will send you a text message when a JPII announcement is posted. These services have been proven a timely way to receive the information. If you would like to receive these alerts please go to WDRB.com, click on Weather, and then Snow Fox Text Alerts and follow the prompts
