NOEL - Our Advent Elf
During Advent, Noel shows up in a different classroom each morning.  She is just one of the tools the teachers use to start daily conversations about Advent.  The students are so excited to see where she might turn up!

Monday, November 30 - Noel was ready to light the Advent Candle in
Mrs. Barber's 2nd Grade.

Tuesday, December 1 - Noel was having a little picnic with Mary in Mrs. Clark's 4th Grade.

Wednesday, December 2 - Noel showed up on Mrs. Sumpter's 6th grade bulletin board. She wanted to show she could be a JPII Knight too!

INCLEMENT WEATHER INFORMATION
St. John Paul II Catholic School will use the following procedure for inclement weather days: To allow St. John Paul II Catholic School to take advantage of the results of the West Clark team's study of road conditions while having the ability to potentially lessen the number of school days missed we will follow this procedure:
  • All St. John Paul II Catholic School closings, delays, and early dismissals will be announced through the media separate from West Clark.
  • So, our families will look for St. John Paul II Catholic School to be announced on WDRB and WDRB.com.
  • Most of the time we will follow the results of the road condition research completed by West Clark's team. There may be times when it could be judged safe to remain open on a day that West Clark is closed, and announcing our school separately will give us the ability to do this.
  • If St. John Paul II Catholic School is not listed, then we would be open.
  • Please look to WDRB News and/or WDRB.com for our closing and delay announcements. This is the only news outlet that will be announcing our closings and delays.
  • WDRB has a free service that will send you a text message when a JPII announcement is posted. These services have been proven a timely way to receive the information. If you would like to receive these alerts click on http://my.textcaster.com/asa/Default.aspx?ID=c4f69af1-fcf8-4a83-b929-f0ed22af349a to sign up.  Or you can go to WDRB.com, click on Weather, and then Snow Fox Text Alerts and follow the prompts.  We have been in contact with WDRB and if you have signed up previously with St. Paul it will automatically change it to St. John Paul II.
Grade 4
The fourth grade students took a field trip to the Frazier Museum last week and enjoyed participating the the "Indiana Pioneers" program.  They explored exhibits on Lewis and Clark and prohibition, had hands on experience with some tools of Indiana pioneers, and did an investigation scavenger hunt through the Indiana pioneers exhibits!  They even got to participate in a skit about the daily life of a pioneer!

Parish Christmas Party

Mark your calendars for Saturday, 6:00 p.m. December 12!  You will not want to miss our Parish Christmas Party!  It's going to be lots of fun with activities for all the family!

Once again this year, we will be collecting hats, mittens and gloves for the REMC Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Project.

We will have a pitch-in dinner.  The parish will furnish the meat (pork tenderloin and roast beef), drinks and table service.  You are asked to sign-up on the sheets in the back of each chapel to bring your choice of vegetable, casserole, salad, dessert or international dish.

Santa will be distributing gifts to the children!  Parents . . . here's the procedure for the gift giving:  Price limit is $5, be sure
to print your child's full name CLEARLY on the present.  Someone will collect the gifts and get them to Santa to present to your child!  You will have a photo op with Santa and the opportunity to get a photo packet!

We will have music (hopefully a live band!) so be sure to wear your dancing shoes!
The Parish Christmas Party will be held on the St. Joe Hill Campus, at the Parish Hall.  See you there!

Pilgrims and Native Americans
