Did You Know?
We have a Sunday Mass-time nursery during the 9:30 and 11:15 Masses for children 6 months to about 4 years old.  During our program, we pray, have story time, sing songs, have snacks and play time.  Contact Kristina Vogt at kvogt@sjohnpaulparish.org with questions or to volunteer on a monthly rotation.

Grade 4
Students in Mrs. Clark's 4th grade science classes have been growing bean plants and documenting the life cycle with labeled drawings of each stage.  Lucas and Jack both had the tallest bean plants after two weeks, measuring 12 inches tall!  Students also watched beans that had no water and beans that had no sunlight to see how they would compare.  Spoiler - beans with sunlight and water are the healthiest plants!

Christmas Comes to Campton, Kentucky
All unwrapped new toys may be brought to the school November 2 through Monday, November 23, 2015.
Toys will be taken to Campton on Saturday, November 28.
Many thanks from the children of Campton!!
Grade 6 Science Fair
The six grade students worked very hard on their Science Fair Projects. We are very proud of all of them.

Congratulations to our Science Fair Winners. They will go on to represent St. John Paul II in the Deanery Sc
ience Fair on Friday.

Grade 1
The first grade classes took a field trip to Falls of the Ohio State Park.  They hiked, saw fossils, had a picnic lunch and were able to experience the park's new interactive exhibits in the interpretive center!  They learned a lot and had a very fun day!

Mrs. Brock and Mrs. Chrisco's class went on a dinosaur dig.  This activity went along with their reading story for the week.  They had so much fun and loved finding their very own dinosaur!

INCLEMENT WEATHER INFORMATION
St. John Paul II Catholic School will use the following procedure for inclement weather days:
To allow St. John Paul II Catholic School to take advantage of the results of the West Clark team's study of road conditions while having the ability to potentially lessen the number of school days missed we will follow this procedure:
  • All St. John Paul II Catholic School closings, delays, and early dismissals will be announced through the media separate from West Clark.
  • So, our families will look for St. John Paul II Catholic School to be announced on WDRB and WDRB.com.
  • Most of the time we will follow the results of the road condition research completed by West Clark's team. There may be times when it could be judged safe to remain open on a day that West Clark is closed, and announcing our school separately will give us the ability to do this.
  • If St. John Paul II Catholic School is not listed, then we would be open.
  • Please look to WDRB News and/or WDRB.com for our closing and delay announcements. This is the only news outlet that will be announcing our closings and delays.
  • WDRB has a free service that will send you a text message when a JPII announcement is posted. These services have been proven a timely way to receive the information. If you would like to receive these alerts click on http://my.textcaster.com/asa/Default.aspx?ID=c4f69af1-fcf8-4a83-b929-f0ed22af349a to sign up.  Or you can go to WDRB.com, click on Weather, and then Snow Fox Text Alerts and follow the prompts.  We have been in contact with WDRB and if you have signed up previously with St. Paul it will automatically change to St. John Paul II.
