Spring is finally here! I'm sure we weren't the only ones who kept waiting for the huge snowstorms to bury us but I think it's safe to say we are in the clear...until next year. The mild Winter allowed for more construction to take place without major breaks in between and now things are really starting to roll.
In this issue of eNews from CBI you will find tips on cladding as well as recent projects highlighting new cladding to solve waterproofing, energy, and aesthetic issues.

Cladding systems can be selected for a variety of reasons including aesthetics, costs, durability, and maintenance. When the cost of some traditional cladding systems become excessive, alternatives that are lighter weight and equal, aesthetically, can be created to save cost.

The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is expanding their Worcester facility with a new five-story building utilizing a rainscreen exterior wall system. With conventional exterior walls, the intent is to limit the amount of water allowed to pass through the outside face of the cladding, be it brick, wood, EIFS or some other material.

When cladding a building with plastic cladding or insulation over two stories, check IBC Section 2603.5.5 regarding compliance and testing by the NFPA 285 Standard.
