AMHF Shortlisted for Aurora Prize
Nominated by Finalist Tom Catena

The Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity is offered "on behalf of Armenian genocide survivors and in gratitude to their saviors."  Our partner, Dr. Tom Catena of Gidel Hospital in the Nuba Mountains, is one of four individual finalists.  From the Aurora Prize website:

"The Aurora Prize was created by the co-founders of 100 LIVES, a pioneering global initiative seeking to express gratitude to those who put themselves at risk to save Armenians from the Genocide one hundred years ago...

The four finalists were each asked to shortlist up to three organizations that they would nominate for a share of the $1,000,000 award if they are named Aurora Prize Laureate later this month. This $1,000,000 award will be given in addition to a personal $100,000 grant for the Laureate.

Selection Committee Co-Chair George Clooney will announce the inaugural Aurora Prize Laureate during a ceremony in Yerevan, Armenia on April 24, 2016."

The Selection Committee includes several Nobel Prize winners, among them co-chair Elie Wiesel.

It is a great honor to be considered for this recognition along with Dr. Catena.  We believe that our partners and supporters share in this honor.

Gratefully, The AMHF Team
