Church School Food Drive

Children will bring their food offerings to

the altar at the Offertory.

Donations will be delivered to the

Wachusett Food Pantry.

Acolyte Training will be held after the 10:00 a.m. service. Parents of children in 6th grade and up are encouraged to discuss this important ministry with their youngsters. Adults are welcome too.

We will also be starting up the Acolyte-in-Training program again this year.  In-Training acolytes process down the aisle with the senior acolytes and observe and listen during worship. The goal is to get current 4th and 5th graders to start thinking about whether they might want to serve as an acolyte when they reach 6th grade.  A sign-up sheet will be placed in the Narthex.  For more information contact Acolyte Coordinator, Brion Keagle (bpkeagle@gmail.com)or 978-928-5297.

Preparing for Advent

Join us as we prepare for Advent by making Anglican prayer beads. On Wednesday, November 19 at 5:00 p.m. we will gather in the Fellowship Hall to make Anglican Prayer beads for Advent (a blue bead theme). Bring a sandwich for your dinner and join Julie Mankowsky and Karen Safstrom as we make prayer beads to pray our way through the season of Advent. Our goal is that we each make a set for ourselves and a second to share with another member of our community. For questions or more information contact Karen Safstrom. (karen.safstrom@gmail.com).

Special Events

Annual Heifer Living Gift Market on the weekend of December 6th/7th following all worship services with live animals after the 10 a.m. service. Offered by Heifer Project, Rutland, MA. Take this opportunity to 'purchase' animals like pigs, chickens, or goat as a great alternative to commercial gifts. Give a gift that keeps on giving!

Military Christmas Cards What better gift to our military family than to send each of them a Christmas card signed by a multitude of the St. Francis family?

Stop by the library after services the weekend of December 13/14, to sign Christmas cards for those military men and women on our prayer list. You will find each card in its own box, and the person's name will be printed on the box. When you take a card out to sign it, kindly put it back into the same box, so family members can sign their service person's card with personal notes. Veteran's, please feel free to note your branch of the service with your signature.  If you have any questions, please contact Ruth Webb at ruthpwebb@aol.com

Church Mouse Mini Fair on the weekend of December 13/14 following all worship services there will be crafts and baked goods for sale.  A great opportunity for last minute gifts and baked goods for the holiday.

A Living Nativity will be held at Mesa Farm in Rutland on December 13th and 14th, 2014. Two performances will be held each evening; at 4:00 and 5:30 PM. The hour long shows will consist of carol singing and a narration and re-enactment of the nativity story in a barn with live animals. There will be no charge although attendees are requested to bring a plate of cookies to share.  Hot chocolate and coffee will be provided.
The Saturday performances will have sign language interpretation.

Missing Glass Platter
Someone accidently picked up a large round, glass tray/platter (with etched flowers) after the reception for Patrick on Saturday, November 8th. It has special meaning to the person who brought it. If anyone knows of its whereabouts please contact the church office or bring it to the church. Thank you!
