Tom and Dianne will also do a short presentation.  They are also requesting donations for the following items to bring back to El Salvador with them to be donated to the Diocesan Doctor.  There is a basket in the narthex for these collections.  They are asking for Prenatal Vitamins, B1, Calcium + Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Zinc, Potassium, Tylenol or equivalents, Gauze (small and larger sizes)

Church Mouse Fair Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 Noon

Attic Treasures ~ Donations of good, clean usable items such as glassware, pictures, linens, craft supplies, tools, books, CD's, DVD's, puzzles, toys, jewelry,  misc. (Please note that we cannot accept tires, paint, cribs, infant car seats or carriers, furniture, television sets, computers, encyclopedias, textbooks, or subscription magazines.)

Re-gift Boutique ~ This year we will be having a new area of our fair for those items which are in mint condition and/or never used which have been waiting for a good place to go. These wouldn't be Attic Treasures. These would be items which you would give to someone else, but you just can't remember who gave it to you in the first place. Or it wasn't your style, didn't fit with your décor, etc., and has been sitting in a closet taking up space. We all have them and now they have a chance to find a new home where they can be loved. Drop-Off Times for the above items will start on Sunday, October 12th after the 10:00 a.m. service until 1:00 p.m. and throughout the week of October 13-17 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please note: Due to limited space we are unable to take donations before Sunday the 12th.

Baked Goods ~ This is a best seller at our fair. We are looking for donations of pies, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and breads. In particular, we would like to encourage items in half sizes or smaller portions for the benefit of senior citizens who would enjoy some homemade goods without the necessity of eating a whole cake on their own. When making your donation, it would be most helpful if you would note either "nuts" or "no nuts", or if your item is "gluten-free", please note that as well. Drop-Off Time is Friday, October 17 from10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Crafters~ Crafter's have been working on items over the summer. If you've been working on items at home or would like to do so please let us know.

For more information, questions, suggestions, etc., please call Donna Alarie at (508) 847-8574 or email at Donnachesspals@gmail.com

Sign-up sheets for volunteers will be in the narthex in the next few weeks.

Truck Drivers~ At least two pick-up trucks with drivers are needed to take leftovers to Savers in Lincoln Plaza in Worcester when the fair is over. We often have several boxes of books and miscellaneous items which won't all fit in cars easily.

Sorters~ During the week before the fair, even an hour of your time would be so much appreciated. All are welcome to bring friends with you! For high school students who need service hours this coming fall, this is a terrific opportunity to fill that need and also help us to help others!

Healing a Spouse's Grieving Heart and Finding Your Way...Sponsored by Miles Funeral Home and facilitated by their Grief Consultant, Ms. Terri Philbrick, LICSW, a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Grief Counselor/Bereavement Coordinator.

Saturday, October 25th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Holden Senior Center.

We are honored to provide our families and the community this continuum of support. We hope that this seminar will assist participants on their journey toward recovery and living fully once again. Pre-registration is requested. More info on the bulletin board in the hall.

Mission...

Purchase a Hope for Housing card and you will be giving 3-5% of the value of the card to the Central Mass Housing Alliance's program aimed at helping the homeless. It's simple. Every 2nd and 4th weekend of the month starting on October 11th, we will sell cards from the Big Y, Shaw's, Stop and Shop, CVS and Panera. It doesn't cost you anything extra. The value you pay is for the value of the card but 3-5% goes to CMHA. The hardest thing to remember is your checkbook. You can purchase the cards after each service in the narthex near the Mission Committee table. Please consider this ministry and help out the homeless in our area. Thank you.

Nu-Day Syria...The Mission Committee is so grateful for you wonderful generosity.  Syria is so present in the news while the refugee population and human suffering increases.  Please, if possible, keep the clothes, linens and shoes coming.

Mission Opportunities... As the holiday approaches Urban Missionaries needs volunteers to help with the Christmas gift sorting and distribution. There are opportunities for computer data entry, compiling wish lists, and later in the season actually sorting gifts. Volunteer Opportunities with schedules and contact information are on the Mission table in the narthex.

Thank you...

Many thanks to everyone for all the cards and prayers. Miss you all and can't wait to be back. KEEP SINGING!!

Mary Been, Minister of Music
