Prayer of Thanksgiving for St. Francis...

"This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it". The Holy Spirit has accomplished the work of ministry for the sake of St. Francis. We celebrate the coming of our new Rector, Rev. Patrick R. Perkins, his wife Carol, their two children, Ryan and Meagan, and their two loveable dogs. We are especially thankful for the faithful work of our Search Committee and their openness to the leading of the Spirit. God has blessed Patrick and he comes to serve our congregation and community with an open heart. May the years ahead prove to be the fulfillment of our hopes and dreams for St.Francis. Prayers Ascending as we transition into this new beginning.

It's Lemonade Time!...Through the months of July and August we will be serving lemonade after the 9:00 a.m. service.  Please consider signing up to host one of the "Lemonade" hours.  It's easy (all supplies are in the kitchen, instructions posted on the refrigerator) and fun! The sign-up sheet is on the table in the narthex.  Questions? Contact Dawn Rooke at dtrooke@gmail.com or 508-829-7124.

If you find yourself at church and are able to serve lemonade and no one is signed up, please feel free to do so!

Church Softball League... Every Sunday through August
24th at Davis Hill School at 5:00 p.m.  As they did last year, the teams will be East Side vs. West Side pick-up teams. No need to sign-up to play, however players should be 16 years of age or older. Click here for the General Rules.

Mission Committee News...
Clothing drive has begun for NuDay Syria. Information is on the Mission table in the narthex.
Hope for Housing Cards Summer is a busy time for everyone. Purchasing a Hope for Housing card is an easy way to give back to the community as the Central Mass Housing Alliance gets a percentage for each card sold. We will be selling cards in the narthex after the 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. services the weekends of July 12-13 and August 23-24. We have them for The Big Y, Shaws, Stop & Shop, CVS and now Panera. Stock up and buy a bunch. We all shop and this is a great way to give back to a wonderful cause.

Pictorial Directories... are now available on the table in the narthex.  For those more electronically minded click here for a PDF to download.
We plan to do a reprint in late September or early October, once our new rector is on board.  If you didn't get your family picture in this time please consider it for the fall issue.  It will greatly help our new rector to learn names and faces.  If you're on vacation this summer and get a family photo you can email it to the office, stfran@verizon.net to be included.

Stewardship Reminder... The beat goes on.
While you may be away at the beach or in Maine or Rockport, MA, St. Francis continues to function. We are open every Saturday and Sunday, like Cumberland Farms, we offer coffee but more importantly we offer the Gospel of love and belonging.  Please do NOT FORGET St. Francis in your giving.  Your weekly, monthly, gift is vital.  Please consider one of your expenses for vacation your financial support of St. Francis. Indeed, the beat goes on.  The very heartbeat of the Risen Christ serving others. Thank you for remembering. Thank you for your summer gift.  -Randy
