Wardens 2 IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM YOUR WARDENS

As St. Francis says goodbye to Rich and family and is preparing for a new rector, it is important that we start the formal process of planning for this transition. Our first step is to form the appropriate committees that will help St. Francis navigate the upcoming changes. We will be forming the Profile Committee, the Search Committee and the Transition Committee.

Committees  Here is a brief description of the mission of each committee:

Profile Committee

The Profile Committee's mission is to write an up-to-date, accurate and honest profile of St. Francis; of who we are today. The Profile will be used to communicate who we are to clergy who may feel called to serve as our next rector.

Search Committee

The Search Committee's mission is, with support from the Bishop's Office, to seek out qualified priests willing to enter with us into a prayerful discernment process as we seek to match their gifts with ours.  The committee will ultimately recommend to the Vestry the candidate they feel most clearly shares St. Francis' mission and core values. Subject to the Bishop's approval, the Vestry will then vote on a new rector for St. Francis.

Transition Committee

The Transition Committee's first mission will be to help with the process of saying goodbye to Rich and his family, and then once a new rector has been called, to assist in overseeing the process of transitioning a new rector into the life of St. Francis.

Committee Chairs   We are very pleased to announce Robin Carlo has agreed to chair the Search Committee; Cynthia McIntyre has agreed to chair the Profile Committee and Melanie Amaral has agreed to chair the Transition Committee. In addition, Nancy Pope has agreed to plan and coordinate the St. Francis goodbye event for Rich, Hathy, Graham and James.

Committee Formation   We are asking members of St. Francis to volunteer or nominate themselves or others to serve on these committees by completing the Committee Nomination Form attached. We are seeking diversity on the committees that reflect St. Francis, including skills, gender, ministries, and service attended.

The deadline for submitting your nomination or volunteer form is Sunday, March 17th. Please submit your nomination or volunteer forms to either of us, in person, by email or place it in our St. Francis mailboxes.  Forms may be downloaded by clicking here.

Discernment and Committee Selection Process    The wardens, along with the committee chairs, will be conducting a discernment process for nominees and volunteers on Wednesday, April 3rd at 7:30 PM immediately following our Wednesday evening service. Paul Taylor of St. Francis will be facilitating the meeting. We will be selecting and commissioning the members of each committee shortly after the discernment process.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you all for your prayers and support.
