Greetings!

The Titanic tragedy led to the development of SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea). Later, the Coast Guard developed canoethe 1-10-1 guide for cold water survival. If the mind is prepared for how the body will initially respond to the shock of cold-water immersion and the body is prepared with a flotation device, a person has a much higher likelihood of surviving a fall overboard. Without such preparation, drowning is likely to take place. Taking this approach into daily living, how often do we walk into our days without the spiritual armor that prepares and protects us for those unforeseen overboard moments of shock, pain or sudden instant devastation because it seemed silly at the time? We awoke with the optimism of the rising sun and clear skies. Off we go, oblivious to spiritual weather reports that indicate testing and trial that is on the horizon.  We hope this month's newsletter equips you for the storms that tend to throw us overboard - with the proper spiritual gear and training, you can make it through the initial shock of impact.
