Mandatory Meaningful Use Registration Milestone for Illinois Providers

(Payment Year 2014-Stage 1 and Stage 2)

All Illinois Eligible Hospitals and Eligible Professionals participating in the Medicare and/or Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs during Payment Year 2014, including Stage 1 and Stage 2 participants, must meet at least one of the following public health meaningful use measures:

  • Submit Electronic Data to Immunization Registries
  • Submit Electronic Reportable Lab Results
  • Submit Electronic Syndromic Surveillance Data

Because the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is not yet ready to receive 2014 data submissions for Stage 1 or Stage 2, providers are required to register their intent to submit such data with IDPH.

Murer Consultants has already helped many of its Illinois clients complete these registrations for Program Year 2014. If your Eligible Hospitals or Eligible Professionals have not done so please contact us for assistance and be sure that they register in accordance with the requirements within 60 days following the start of their EHR Reporting Period (please contact Murer for more information).

The registration deadline is May 30, 2014 for Eligible Hospitals that are currently collecting Program Year 2014 meaningful use data. If your Eligible Hospital will be collecting data next quarter (July 1 - September 30), then your deadline is August 29, 2014. For Eligible Professionals, the deadlines are May 30, 2014, August 29, 2014, or November 29, 2014 depending on your Reporting Period.

Murer is available to assist with this process as well as any other meaningful use and EHR Incentive Program needs. Murer serves as a meaningful use regulatory expert as well as an EHR Incentive Program "end-user" by registering and attesting on behalf of numerous eligible providers nationwide while ensuring program compliance.

If you have questions regarding the Illinois public health registration requirements, the EHR Incentive Program or meaningful use regulations, or if you are interested in Murer serving as an end-user for your Eligible Hospitals or Eligible Professionals, please feel free to call us.
