LTACH Moratorium Expires on December 29, 2012
|
As the end of the federal Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) moratorium approaches on December 28, 2012, planning for expansion of existing long term acute care hospitals, as well as new development of LTACHs is under way. Providers should proceed with growth initiatives to properly position LTACH projects that may have been holding since 2007 when the moratorium was first implemented. Since the development of new LTACHs involves planning, strategy, financing and time, Murer Consultants recommends proceeding with planning efforts to ensure projects are ready to move forward with formal filings as soon as the moratorium expires. Murer Consultants is available to assist with all aspects of expansion and development projects.
