RUPCO Green Jobs-Green NY Program
July 2015 NEWSLETTER
|
Greetings from RUPCO
Green Jobs Green New York
The RUPCO Green Jobs Green New York (GJGNY) Team welcomes the new subscribers to our newsletter community! RUPCO's mission is to "strengthen homes, communities, and lives." The GJGNY Team's goal is to make NYSERDA's Home Performance with ENERGY STARŪ (HPwES) program readily accessible to New York homeowners. We educate and advocate for homeowners, renters and landlords, supporting their participation in the program. They save money and energy while supporting community efforts to decrease our carbon footprint.
RUPCO is one of ten Constituency-Based Organizations (CBOs) under contract to NYSERDA to do outreach to promote their residential energy programs. To date, RUPCO's outreach has resulted in roughly 22% of all CBO residential energy upgrades (372), and they have assisted customers with GJGNY financing resulting in roughly 28% of all CBO affiliated loans (177). RUPCO's strategic partnerships include Central Hudson Gas & Electric, Energize NY, Mid-Hudson EDGE Program (Courtney Strong Inc.), Solarize Hudson Valley, HPwES contractors as well as municipal partners. RUPCO is a trusted community partner throughout the Mid-Hudson and Westchester Region.

Get Great Group Discounts
with Solarize Hudson Valley!
|
Solarize Kingston kicked off in May with well-attended events like this community workshop.
|
Solarize Hudson Valley is a regional campaign to make it easier and more affordable for households and small businesses to go solar. Solarize combines the power of community with group purchasing for incredible discounts - as much as 10% to 15% below market rate! The more people that commit to going solar, the lower the cost gets! Now is the time to get involved to get a great deal on installing your own solar energy system. Solarize works with highly qualified, pre-selected installation firms and community outreach volunteers, so you can trust the work to be done right.
RUPCO and Solarize Hudson Valley are working together to encourage homeowners to get a free home energy assessment through NYSERDA before installing a solar energy system - to "Reduce then Produce." This way, homeowners can reduce their energy usage first, and then possibly reduce the size of solar panels needed.
