CISD Plans Update To Core Switches – Systems Will Be Down Temporarily May 13
The Technology Dept. Engineering Group is planning to upgrade Carroll ISD’s core switches starting at 6 p.m. on Friday May 13 and ending Sunday, May 15. This upgrade will allow substantially faster network speeds. During the upgrade CISD will be moving all campus network connections to the new core switches. Therefore, all network services will be down, including: phones, wireless, network access (employee H: drives), VPN, internet, and all CISD-hosted web services (Skyward, Eduphoria, Email, etc.). CISD is planning to complete the project by Saturday noon, but there can be unexpected issues, which may delay the progress. School officials say their top concern is to make sure the switchover does not negatively impact campus services. The date and time were selected based on discussions with the Maintenance and Communications groups, as well as HS principals.
