Fine Arts Students Honored During Wednesday Ceremony

CSHS Student Excels at Chinese Proficiency Competition
Jared Repice, a Junior Mandarin 3 pre-AP student from CSHS, placed 2nd at the Southern U.S. Regional Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition this past weekend. He competed against the top contestants from eight southern states ranging from Georgia to Oklahoma. Jared completed a Chinese culture test, delivered a speech in Mandarin, and performed a kung fu talent. View a photo of Jared at the competition here.
Special Programs Hosting "A Parent Paying it Forward" Thursday
Special Programs presents a Coffee Talk: “A Parent Paying it Forward.” Please join a lively discussion with Laura Glass, parent of a former student with Intellectual Disabilities on Thursday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Rockenbaugh Elementary Library. She will share how wonderful it is to be a parent of a child with a disability, even 10 years after graduation. Target audience: families who have students of all ages with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, or other disabilities who may need some type of continued support in their lives. Join Park Place Lexus and Leadership Southlake Class of 2015-2016 for an exclusive event benefiting Band Aide on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Have fun while raising funds for much-needed band instruments for Dawson and Carroll Middle Schools. Enjoy a reception with foods from il Calabrese Ristoranteand concerts featuring select performances from the Dawson and Carroll Middle School bands, as well as the award-winning Carroll High School Jazz Band. Lady Dragon Softball Hosts Playoff Series Opener Thursday
The Carroll Lady Dragon softball team finished as the No. 2 seed in District 7-6A after falling last Friday to L.D Bell. The Lady Dragons will face South Grand Prairie in the first round of the playoffs. Carroll will host Game 1 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Carroll, Game 2 at 7:30 p.m. Friday at SGP and Game 3 is Saturday 2 p.m. Saturday at Eaton HS, if needed.

Athletic Physical Information for 2016-2017 School Year
It is once again time for students to obtain their athletic physical for the 2016-2017 school year. Physicians, Nurses, and Physical Therapists from All-Star Orthopaedics, as well as other local physicians, will be working together to give your child the best physical assessment possible. Dragon Tennis Team Placement Dates Set
Initial tryouts for incoming freshmen or anyone not currently on our JV or Varsity teams will be held on July 27-28 from 8-10 a.m. at the CSHS courts. Those that qualify for a Varsity or JV tryout will need to be present the following week of Aug. 1-5. Athletes who wish to make the program must be present during tryouts. All participants must have a current physical on file with the CISD athletic trainers or have one on the day of tryouts. Carroll ISD Night at Rangers Game Friday
Join Carroll ISD and the Texas Rangers for Carroll ISD Night at the Globe Life Park in Arlington on Friday at 7:05 p.m. as the Rangers take on the Los Angeles Angels. In addition to discounted tickets for Carroll students, the first 1,500 tickets sold will also receive a voucher for a special Carroll-themed Texas Rangers cap, available for pickup at the game.
