Athletic Physical Information for 2016-2017 School Year
It is once again time for students to obtain their athletic physical for the 2016-2017 school year. Physicians, Nurses, and Physical Therapists from All-Star Orthopaedics, as well as other local physicians, will be working together to give your child the best physical assessment possible. Physicals will take place at the All-Star Orthopaedics offices. The cost of the physical is $25, with all the proceeds benefiting Carroll ISD Athletics. Get more information on MySouthlakeNews.com.
CSHS Theatre Department to Compete in UIL District Competition
The CSHS Theatre Department will perform its One Act Play in the UIL District Competition on Thursday, March 24 at 6:15 p.m. They will be performing Unchanging Love, by Romulus Linney, based on the short story In the Ravine by Anton Chekhov. Carillon Hosts "Jazz at the Oasis" Concert April 10
Carillon Southlake is hosting Jazz at the Oasis, a free concert featuring the Carroll High School Jazz Band on Sunday, April 10, from 2-4 p.m. Jazz at the Oasis is free and open to the public and will take place at the Oasis pool in Carillon. Read more about Jazz at the Oasis here.
Lady Dragon Softball Hosts Colleyville Heritage Tonight
The Carroll Lady Dragon softball team hosts Colleyville Heritage at 7:15 p.m Tuesday in District 7-6A action. The Lady Dragons look to bounce back after an 8-7 loss Monday to Richland. The Lady Dragons are 12-9 overall.
Dragon Baseball Opens District Play Tonight at Coppell
The Carroll Dragon baseball team opens District 7-6A play at 7 p.m tonight at rival Coppell. The Dragons are 9-4-1 overall and Coppell is 16-0 and 2-0 in district and ranked No. 1 in the state.

Volunteers Needed for "Art in the Square"
Southlake Women's Club is hosting "Art in the Square" in April and is in search for teen volunteers to get community service hours. Art in the Square will take place April 22, 23 and 24 in Southlake Town Square. Teen volunteers are needed to help supervise the kids' crafts, inflatables and rock walls, delivering refreshments to the artists throughout the weekend, as well as setting up and tearing down the equipment in the square. CSHS "Connect" Art Exhibit Opens March 28
The CSHS Art Exhibit "Connect" will open on Monday, March 28 from 5-7 p.m. at the CSHS Gallery. The art show includes work from all levels and will run during normal school hours until Friday, April 7. View the poster here.
Carroll ISD Schools Closed Friday
Carroll ISD schools and offices will be closed Friday, March 25. This is an unused bad weather day built into the school calendar. The second bad weather day is Friday, May 27. If the day goes unused, it will also serve as a school holiday.
Dawson Performing Arts Hosts Taco Night Fundraiser
Join DPAC at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Southlake for a fundraiser on Thursday, March 31, from 4 p.m. – midnight. Mention DPAC and 10% of your bill will be donated to the theater program to defer the costs of their upcoming show, Shrek the Musical. View the event flyer here.
SAGT Accepting Scholarship Applications
The Southlake Association for Gifted and Talented (SAGT) is now accepting applications for a $1,500 SAGT Senior Scholarship for a graduating senior. Click here for equirements and the application.
RES, WGES Night at Dragon Baseball Friday
The Dragon baseball team will host its first District 7-6A game at 7 p.m. Friday vs. Coppell. The game features Rockenbaugh and Walnut Grove Elementary night. Students from these schools should wear a Dragon T-shirt and check in at the front gate for free admission. Parents must pay the gate fee per UIL rules. The first nine students arriving from each school will run on the field when the lineup is announced. Students will receive free popcorn and the Dragon players will be available for autographs after the game.
Olive Garden Spirit Night April 12
Olive Garden in Grapevine is hosting Spirit Night on April 12. Dine at Olive Garden and make a donation to your school. Don't forget to use #SpiritNight and tag @OliveGarden for a chance to win prizes. Olive Garden is located at 301 W. State Highway 114.
Carroll EQ Club Presents Vitality - A Fun Family Experience
The Carroll EQ Club will host an action packed fun day for mind and body development on Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will include fitness and resilience sessions for children and Empathy and Acceptance workshop for parents.
