Walnut Grove Teacher Receives Honor
Walnut Grove Elementary teacher Judy Leddy was recently honored as a Local 2016 PBS Learning Media Digital Innovator. The PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators program is a yearlong, free professional development program designed to foster and reward a community of highly engaged, tech-savvy K-12 educators who are using digital media and technology in classrooms. Leddy is a Gifted and Talented Specialist at WGES. She has taught over 30 years and is in her 23rd year teaching GT.

Dragons on Spring Break Next Week
Carroll ISD's spring break will be from March 14-18. All schools and offices will be closed during this time. Schools will resume regular schedules on Monday, March 21 - which will be a "B" day for high school students.

Bad Weather Days Reminder
Carroll ISD has two bad weather days built into each school calendar. The first bad weather day on this year's calendar is Friday, March 25. If the day goes unused it will serve as a school holiday. All schools and offices would be closed. The second bad weather day is Friday, May 27.

Carroll Soccer Teams Defeat Haltom
The Carroll Dragons earned a 2-1 victory against Haltom on Senior Night to clinch a playoff berth in District 7-6A. The Lady Dragons defeated Haltom 11-0 and remain undefeated in district. The Lady Dragons host Senior Night on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Dragon Stadium vs. L.D. Bell. The Dragons play at L.D. Bell at 7:30 p.m. These are the final regular season games for both teams.

FWOpera Mentors Southlake Students in Operatic Master Class Tonight
Fort Worth Opera's (FWOpera) talented Hattie Mae Lesley Apprentice Artists will host a Master Class and perform with students of Carroll Senior High School on Thursday, March 10 at 7 p.m. Check out the full article here.

Carroll Indoor Percussion SURGES to Second Place
Carroll Indoor Percussion received 2nd place with its show SURGE at the NTCA Percussion Show held at Chisholm Trail High School on Saturday, March 5. This is the second time the ensemble has placed 2nd in its first year of Open Class competition. The ensemble will compete next in the Regional competition in Bowling Green, Kentucky. DPAC Hosts Taco Night Fundraiser
Join DPAC at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Southlake for a fundraiser on Thursday, March 31, from 4 p.m. – midnight. Mention DPAC and 10% of your bill will be donated to the theater program to defer the costs of their upcoming show, Shrek the Musical. View the event flyer here.

Water Polo Teams Earn Wins; Five Lady Dragons Bound for ODP
The Lady Dragon water polo team defeated Clear Falls High School 16-2 last weekend as part of exhibition games at the Dutton Tournament hosted by Thunder Water Polo-Southlake. Read more on MySouthlakeNews.com.

Book Madness Challenge Picks The Martian
This year's Book Madness Challenge at Carroll High School and Carroll Senior High School chose The Martian by Andy Weir as the winner. This book was the top choice by the students as they picked a winner in each round starting with the Sweet 16. Click here to see the Facebook post regarding the challenge.

Dragon CREW Tryouts
CREW tryouts will take place on Friday, April 8 at 4:30 p.m. at Carroll Senior High School. All applications are available in room 405 at CSHS, and must be returned to Mrs. Lacava by Monday, April 4. Any questions or concerns may be sent to linda.lacava@southlakecarroll.edu.

Art in the Square Showcases High School Artists
Art in the Square, a fine arts festival held at Southlake Town Square April 22-24 showcases artwork of world-wide renowned artists, emerging artists and high school artists. The contest is open to any student of high school age in Northeast Tarrant County including those in private schools and those who are home schooled. Read the full story here.
