Rockenbaugh Elementary Given All Clear After Soft Lockdown
This morning, Rockenbaugh Elementary was placed in a soft lockdown after a unknown, small container was found behind the school. As is standard operating procedures, Southlake DPS called in the area bomb squad to X-ray and check out the container before declaring it safe. In all, the lockdown lasted about two and a half hours, but students and staff continued all classes. Special thanks to Rockenbaugh SRO James Reeves and the Southlake Police and Fire Departments for the quick and efficient handling of the situation. As a reminder, all students and staff need to account for their backpacks and belongings on school grounds and ask that parents be mindful of not leaving items on property unattended. Safety protocols are in place to ensure that any unidentified or suspicious package or container gets checked out by the appropriate authorities.
