Dragons Go RED Parent Challenge
Order your 2016 Go Red For Women T-shirts and join CISD students and staff in supporting the American Heart Association's GO RED campaign. Last day to order shirts is Thursday, Feb. 18. Shirts will be delivered directly to the CISD campus of your choice by the end of February. School Board Filing Deadline Feb. 19
Deadline for filing for three places on the Carroll Independent School District Board of Trustees is Feb. 19. Two seats – Places 6 and 7, held by Matt Kormann and Christopher Archer, respectively – are three-year terms. The Place 1 seat held by Trustee Michele Moore is a one-year unexpired term. The election is held the first Saturday in May, which is May 7.
Helping Kids Develop a Positive Body Image
Carroll ISD Counseling Department hosts Erin L. Smith, M.Ed., LPC on Thursday, Feb. 25, to share strategies that that parents, teachers, and coaches may use that can help children develop a positive body image. The presentation will be held in the Carroll High School Lecture Hall and can be heard at both 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25. Eubanks PTO Initiates Library Renovation Campaign
Eubanks Intermediate School PTO is launching a fundraising campaign to raise the remaining $40,000 to finalize the library renovation project, which has already begun this year. The balance of the library renovation will incorporate a PC study zone, a class collaboration area, an updated reception space, and a “maker space” conference room that will be equipped with resources to encourage creativity and innovation and advance the use of technological applications. Dragon Cheer Tryout Packet Pickup
Students interested in trying out for cheerleader can pick up a packet at Carroll Middle, Dawson Middle, Carroll HS or Carroll Senior HS now through Feb. 15.
Dragon Hockey Senior Night Thursday
Dragon Hockey will be celebrating seniors on Thursday 7:30 p.m. Dragon senior players will be honored before the varsity game at the Dr. Pepper Star Center at 1400 South Pipeline Rd. in Euless.
Carroll Target Team Hosting Charity Sporting Clays Event May 6
The Carroll Target Program is hosting its inaugural charity event on May 6 at the Dallas Gun Club. Please join us for a round of Sporting Clays at one of the top ranked shooting courses in the country and help raise funds to benefit the Carroll students and volunteer coaches. Funds raised from the event with be used for scholarships, travel costs, training, and team assets. Event is open to all skill levels. Click here for more details.
Southlake Basketball Hosting Tryouts March 6
Southlake Basketball will host boys and girls spring/summer team tryouts for grades 5-8 Sunday, March 6 at Carroll Senior High School. Session I will be for grades 5-6 from 2-3:45 p.m. Session II will be for grades 7-8 from 4-5:45 p.m. The tryout skills session is free. The season will run from late March through June. Miracle League is hosting its inaugural fundraising and recognition event on Feb.19 from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Southlake Hilton. Now entering its second season, the Miracle League has a need to fund its operations, including insurance and equipment.
