Landers Named New Walnut Grove Principal
The Carroll ISD School Board approved Mike Landers as the new Walnut Grove Elementary School Principal. Landers was named during Monday night’s School Board meeting. National Signing Day Event Wednesday Morning at CSHS

Special Programs College & Career Transition Fair Tonight
CISD Special Programs is hosting the College and Career Transition Fair tonight at Carroll Senior High School from 6:30-8 p.m. Several colleges, vocational schools and special programs will be present. The event will include guest speakers Dawn Kahlden, M.Ed. Director of office of disabilities, Weatherford College and Teresa Gross M.A. Student Services College of Living Experience. District Opens Preschool Enrollment for 2016-2017 School Year
Preschool registration packets for the 2016-2017 school year are now available on the Preschool Program website. The lottery will be held on Feb.17 at 9:30 a.m at the Carroll ISD Administration Building. Carroll Band Bistro Saturday at CHS
The Carroll band will have its annual Bistro with dinner, music by the students and silent auction on Saturday, Feb. 6. The bistro will be held at the Carroll High School cafeteria. Dinner is from 6-7:30 p.m. and provided by Buca di Beppo. Tickets are for sale at the CHS & CSHS front offices through Wednesday. Cash or checks made out to the Carroll Band Boosters. CISD Hosts North Texas Region Odyssey of the Mind Tournament Feb. 27
Carroll ISD will host the North Texas Region Odyssey of the Mind Tournament at Carroll High School from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27. Sixty-two teams from across North Texas will compete, including 21 teams from Carroll. Come out to see some of the fabulous creativity and support the team from your school. Dragons Moving to New District 5-6A Starting Next Year

Dragon Band Members Advancing to State Solo & Ensemble Contest
Last weekend 200 members of the Dragon Band participated in the Region 24 UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest at Liberty HS in Frisco. The daylong contest, with 208 total entries, produced at the end of the day 126 individual Superior medals for solo work and 85 Superior medals for ensemble performances. Carroll High School Student to Perform at Album Release Concert
Cool Pony Media of Colleyville is thrilled to announce the release of the Electrofest Volume One compilation featuring Carroll High School sophomore Lauren Henriksen. Lauren was signed by Cool Pony Music when she was 13 years old, and will be releasing her first solo album this March. Lauren has also been named an ambassador of To Write Love on Her Arms, a non-profit organization that works closely with Cool Pony Media. Learn more about the album release concert here.
Community News: Miracle League Fundraiser Feb. 19
Miracle League is hosting its inaugural fundraising and recognition event on Feb.19 from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Southlake Hilton. Now entering its second season, the Miracle League has a need to fund its operations, including insurance and equipment. Each table of 10 will include a major league baseball representative. Join Miracle League as they continue to expand the program now serving Carroll ISD and surrounding districts.
