District Announces Preschool Enrollment for 2016-2017 School Year
Preschool registration packets for the 2016-2017 school year will be available online beginning Feb. 1. CISD Blended Preschool Program is open to all three and four year olds who are eligible to attend Carroll ISD. Selection is completed through a lottery enrollment process. A Preschool Information Night will be held on Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Rockenbaugh Elementary. CISD Receives AP Honor Roll Award for 5th Consecutive Year
Every year, College Board honors districts around the nation with an award, AP Honor Roll,  for simultaneously increasing participation in Advanced Placement courses while maintaining or improving the number of 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s scored on the Advanced Placement tests. Catch Dragon Hoops Tonight on Middle School Night
It’s Middle School Night tonight at both the Lady Dragon and Dragon basketball games vs. L.D. Bell. During halftime, both the girls and boys teams will recognize the 7th and 8th grade A, B and C teams from both CMS and DMS. All middle school students will be admitted free to both games with student ID. The Lady Dragons tipoff at 6:30 p.m. and the Dragons follow at 8 p.m.

CISD Accepts Fort Worth Mayor's Compassionate Service Challenge
During the Mayor’s Week of Compassionate Service, Jan. 16-24, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price is calling on families, business leaders, faith institutions, non-profits, neighborhoods, schools and individuals from across Tarrant County to create, organize and initiate volunteer projects of your choice throughout the week. The Carroll Dragons have accepted Mayor Price’s challenge for compassionate service, but as a core value of Carroll ISD, our Dragon students participate in service projects throughout the entire year. School Board Filing for May Election Underway: Deadline Feb. 19
Filing began Wednesday for three Places on the Carroll Independent School District Board of Trustees. Two seats – Places 6 and 7, held by Matt Kormann and Christopher Archer, respectively – are three-year terms. The Place 1 seat held by Trustee Michele Moore is a one-year unexpired term. The deadline to file for a place on the ballot is Feb. 19. The election is held the first Saturday in May, which is May 7. Read more on MySouthlakeNews.com. On the first day of filing, Archer and Moore both filed. Kormann filed on Thursday.

Mark Your Calendar: Meeting for Middle School Athletes Interested in Tennis
All Carroll and Dawson Middle School athletes interested in playing tennis this spring need to attend a mandatory parent meeting at Carroll Senior High School's Student Activity Center on Feb. 3 from 6-7 p.m. All athletes need a current physical on file in order to participate. CEF Welcomes New Board Members & Offers Spring Internship
As Carroll Education Foundation enters its 20th Anniversary in supporting Carroll Independent School District, many plans are in motion to make 2016 a very successful year for our students. CEF is honored to have six new board members join the organization: Ed Bunner, Heather DeLapp, Julie Doyle, Benjamen Dyer, Mary O’Toole and Paul Venesky. The group is made up of CISD parents, community volunteers and business professionals that bring skills and experience that lend to the current goals of the organization. History of Dragon Football Book on Sale at CISD Administration Center
Want a keepsake with the history of Dragon football? Get a copy of the the new Dragon Football book now available for purchase at the Carroll ISD Administration Center, located at 2400 North Carroll. This 127-page book is a comphrensive look at one of the nation's premier football programs. The cost is $25 per book and can be purchased by cash, check or credit (includes service charge). All proceeds benefit the Southlake Historical Society and the We Care teacher appreciation program. The administration center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Wounded Warriors Softball Tournament Saturday at Bob Jones Park
The 2016 Wounded Warriors tourney will be held at Southlake’s Bob Jones Softball Park on Saturday. The all-day event includes a slow pitch softball tournament featuring the WWAST and teams from North Texas, including local teams comprised of CISD softball and baseball players, CISD teachers and coaches, and members of churches, businesses, sports associations, and the Southlake Police and Fire departments.
