AP Art Show Opens Tonight
The Carroll Senior High School Art Department and the AP Boosters are proud to present the AP Art Show, which opens tonight from 5-7:30 p.m. The show will take place in the Carroll Senior High Art Building and will run during normal school hours until Jan. 29. Click here to read more.
School Board Filing for May Election Underway
Filing began Wednesday for three Places on the Carroll Independent School District Board of Trustees. Two seats – Places 6 and 7, held by Matt Kormann and Christopher Archer, respectively – are three-year terms. The Place 1 seat held by Trustee Michele Moore is a one-year unexpired term. The deadline to file for a place on the ballot is Feb. 19. The election is held the first Saturday in May, which is May 7. Read more on MySouthlakeNews.com. PTO for Special Programs Features Documentary Thursday
PTO for Special Programs, in conjunction with CISD Department of Special Programs, are hosting two opportunities to view the acclaimed documentary “ADD and Loving It!?” on Jan. 21 from 6:30-7:30 pm, and Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., both at CISD’s Administration Building, 2400 North Carroll Ave. in the Lonesome Dove meeting room. Dragon Basketball Teams Host Middle School Night Friday
It’s Middle School Night on Friday, Jan. 22 at both the Lady Dragon and Dragon basketball games vs. L.D. Bell. During halftime, both the girls and boys teams will recognize the 7th and 8th grade A, B and C teams from both CMS and DMS. All middle school students will be admitted free to both games with student ID. The Lady Dragons tipoff at 6:30 p.m. and the Dragons follow at 8 p.m.
Southlake Women's Club Presents Donations
The Southlake Women’s Club presented $30,000 in checks to eight Carroll ISD campuses last Thursday. As part of an annual fundraiser, the Southlake Women’s Club sells pre-packaged school supplies to families in the district. Read more on MySouthlakeNews.com.
CEF Welcomes New Board Members & Offers Spring Internship
As Carroll Education Foundation enters its 20th Anniversary in supporting Carroll Independent School District, many plans are in motion to make 2016 a very successful year for our students. CEF is honored to have six new board members join the organization: Ed Bunner, Heather DeLapp, Julie Doyle, Benjamen Dyer, Mary O’Toole and Paul Venesky. The group is made up of CISD parents, community volunteers and business professionals that bring skills and experience that lend to the current goals of the organization. Community News: Dragon Youth Baseball Registration Open Through Jan. 30
Dragon Youth Baseball is seeking players age 3-17 to join us at the newly renovated Bicentennial Park facility for our spring baseball season. We offer both developmental and advanced programs to accommodate all experience levels. Practices begin the week of Feb. 7 and the season ends with a tournament in May.
