School Holiday Monday
Carroll ISD schools and offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes return to regular schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 19, which will be a "B" day for high school students.

School Board Approves CISD Short-Term Growth Plan
The Carroll School Board approved a recommendation Monday to purchase portable classrooms for up to three school campuses  to manage student growth short-term and avoid major attendance rezoning so that the Capital Needs Planning Committee can complete its work. Read more on MySouthlakeNews.com.

Basketball Teams Host Doubleheader Tonight

PTO for Special Programs Hosting ADD/ADHD Documentary
PTO for Special Programs, in conjunction with CISD Department of Special Programs, are hosting two opportunities to view the acclaimed documentary “ADD and Loving It!?” on Jan. 21 from 6:30-7:30 pm, and Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., both at CISD’s Administration Building, 2400 North Carroll Ave. in the Lonesome Dove meeting room. In addition to the documentary viewing on Jan. 22, CISD’s Licensed Specialists in School Psychology will provide a brief discussion on ADD/ADHD and lunch will be provided. School Board Filing for May Election Begins Jan. 20
Filing begins Jan. 20 for three Places on the Carroll Independent School District Board of Trustees. Two seats – Places 6 and 7, held by Matt Kormann and Christopher Archer, respectively – are three-year terms. The Place 1 seat held by Trustee Michele Moore is a one-year unexpired term. The deadline to file for a place on the ballot is Feb. 19. The election is held the first Saturday in May, which is May 7. Read more on MySouthlakeNews.com.

Community News: Dragon Youth Baseball Registration Open Through Jan. 30
Dragon Youth Baseball is seeking players age 3-17 to join us at the newly renovated Bicentennial Park facility for our spring baseball season. We offer both developmental and advanced programs to accommodate all experience levels. Practices begin the week of Feb. 7 and the season ends with a tournament in May. Player evaluations will be held at Bicentennial Park on Jan. 30. Evaluation times are selected during registration so register early for the best selection of player evaluation times.
