Dragon Senior Surprised With LIVE BIG Scholarship
Carroll Dragon senior Craig Miller got a big surprise last week. He was awarded the LIVE BIG! Foundation scholarship worth $4,000 to be used toward college. Miller will be attending the TCU Honors College in the fall to study finance. Read more on MySouthlakeNews.com.
Dragon Robotics Reaches Quarterfinal in World Championships

Relay for Life Southlake Fundraiser Tonight
Take a night off from cooking and let Bolo Italian Grill serve up dinner for a good cause! Dine in or carryout-eat at Bolo tonight from 5:30-8 p.m. and the restaurant will donate 25% of proceeds to Relay for Life Southlake. Bolo is located at 260 N. Kimball in Southlake. Carroll’s Theatre Production “Scenes From A Chorus Line” Opens May 1
Tickets are on sale for Carroll Theatre’s production, “Scenes from A Chorus Line,” a stunning musical about a chorus auditioning for a Broadway musical. Come see why so many theatre goers were entranced by this “singular sensation.” Performances will be held on Friday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday May 2 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30pm at Carroll Senior High Auditorium. Tickets are $15 and available for purchase at www.dragondrama.net. Open seating will be available and all are welcome. This is the final performance of the year for Carroll Theatre.
Dragons STAAR Testing This Week
This week, Carroll ISD students will continue state testing for the 2014-2015 school year. Testing will run this week and continue into the first week of May. These exams are required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and administered at the student’s home campus. Read the schedule on MySouthlakeNews.com.
Lady Dragon Softball Wins District Title
The Carroll Lady Dragon softball team won its first district title since 2004 with a victory Monday. The Lady Dragons defeated Colleyville Heritage 4-3 to claim the District 7-6A title. The team has two regular season games remaining before the playoffs begin. Carroll hosts Haltom at 7:15 p.m. tonight.
Record Qualifier for CISD Debate
Two members of the Dragon Debate team made district history at the Lone Star District Tournament qualifying tournament. The students will join teammates at the national Tournament of Champions in Kentucky this weekend. Read the full story on MySouthlakeNews.com.
DMS Hosting Fundraiser at Torchy's Tacos Tonight
Dawson Middle School is hosting a Spirit Night at Torchy's Tacos in Southlake on Tuesday, April 21. Place a dine-in or carry-out order between 5-9 p.m. and mention Dawson. Torchy's will donate 15% to DMS.
Several Dragons Qualify for 6A Area Meet
The Carroll track and field teams competed last week at Coppell High School in the District 7-6A meet. The Dragons finished first with 182 points and the Lady Dragons finished second with 137 points. Several members of the boys' and girls' teams qualified for the Area Meet in Cedar Hill on April 23. Read the list of area qualifiers on MySouthlakeNews.com.
CISD Student Artwork Featured at Art in the Square This Weekend
The annual Art in the Square event returns to Southlake Town Square April 24- 26 and Carroll ISD student artwork will be among the featured works at event. CISD Counseling Hosts Wellness Guest Speaker
Former Carroll ISD counselor Annie Tam, M.Ed., LPC returns on Tuesday, April 28 to speak about Adolescent Wellness. The presentation is hosted by the Carroll ISD Counseling Department and will be held in the Carroll High School Lecture Hall located at 800 White Chapel. The presentation will last approximately one hour and take place twice on Tuesday, April 28th, once at 9 a.m. and again at 7 p.m. Please RSVP to Erin.Smith@SouthlakeCarroll.edu. Thursday Last Day to Order Official Relay For Life Southlake T-Shirt
Carroll ISD announces this year’s “Paint the Town Purple” t-shirt is available for purchase online. A portion of the donation will cover the cost of the shirt; the remaining money will be donated to Relay for Life Southlake. Carroll ISD teachers and staff will be allowed to wear this shirt on Thursdays in May with jeans. Order by April 23 and pick up Tuesday, May 6 at the Administration Building. Athletic Physical Information for 2015-2016
Physicians, nurses, and physical therapists from All-Star Orthopaedics, as well as other local physicians, will be working together for physicals for CISD athletes. The cost of the physical is $30, with all the proceeds benefiting Carroll ISD Athletics. Click here for more information including the physical dates.
