Carroll Swim/Dive Teams Earn Region Titles

Dragon Band Informational Meeting for 8th Grade Parents Tonight
The Dragon Band staff will hold an informational meeting regarding the high school band for 8th grade parents Monday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at CHS. Information will be presented about registering your child for band for 2015-2016. Band members and band parents will outline their personal experiences with the Carroll Dragon Band, and also be available for questions.
Fourth Grade Family Science Night Tuesday at WGES
The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History will be coming to WGES on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 6-8 p.m. This program is exclusive to Walnut Grove 4th graders and their immediate family members. There will be interactive experiments, star gazing, a Discovery Lab, and Star Lab sessions. Click here for an RSVP form. Special Education Department Presents College & Career Transition Fair
CISD’s Special Education Department is hosting its annual College and Career Transition Fair Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Carroll Senior High School in the Student Activity Center/ Cafeteria from 6:30-8:30 p.m. College Offices of Disability Service Representatives, Trade Schools, Housing Agencies, and Career Assistance Organizations will be represented. Dragon Students Participating in NASA Launch Party Friday
Eubanks Intermediate School and Dawson Middle School are excited to offer students the opportunity to participate in the first NASA Student Launch Party at Carroll ISD’s Observatory on Friday, Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m. The purpose of NASA’s Student Launch Party is to promote NASA’s upcoming Multiscale Magnetosphere Mission (MMS), which is set to launch March 12, 2015. Dragons Go Red Blood Drive Feb. 19
This year, Carroll ISD is teaming up with Carroll Senior High School Student Council for a district wide blood drive. The drive will be Thursday, Feb. 19 at CSHS. Click here to make a reservation online. The Blood Drive is part of Dragons Go Red during the month of February. Additional Dragons Go Red activities include weekly emails from CISD Health Services, and donations to the American Heart Association for the opportunity for staff to wear jeans on Thursdays throughout the month. Carroll Jazz Orchestra Featured in Annual Jazz Festival
Students in Carroll’s Jazz Orchestra join UNT’s prestigious One O’Clock Lab Band for the APEX Arts League’s annual Jazz Festival. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21 at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Students from Naaman Forest and Rowlett High Schools will also participate in the concert. Donations are $10 at the door for adults and $5 for students, seniors and Apex members. For more information visit Apex-Arts.org.
SASO Girls Hosts Membership Drive
The 2015-2016 SASO Girls Membership Drive is underway, applications for all current and prospective members will be due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27 and are available on the website. SASO Girls is an inclusive, non-profit service organization dedicated to providing philanthropic opportunities for mothers and daughters. Lady Dragon Basketball Team Clinches District Title
The Carroll Lady Dragon basketball team clinched the District 7-6A title last Friday. The Lady Dragons are 16-4 overall and 11-0 in district play. Carroll ends the regular season Tuesday at home vs. Colleyville Heritage at 6:30 p.m. Dragon sponsors Complete Care Southlake and United Specialty Advertising will have free promotional items for fans at the game. CSHS Key Club Hosting Golf Fundraiser
The Carroll Senior High School Key Club is hosting a charity golf tournament as it tries to raise $15,000 for the Children's Miracle Network, Southwest Kids and Key Club. The event will be held Saturday, March 28 at Sky Creek Ranch. The cost is $150 per player or $550 per foursome. Raffle contests, hole contests and a banquet will also be part of the event. Sponsors are also being accepted for each hole for $75 by contacting Allison Alonzo at allylovesgolf@gmail.com.

Celebrate Chinese Spring Festival with Southlake Sister Cities & CHS Chinese Club
Carroll High School will host a Chinese Spring Festival to celebrate the Chinese New Year on Feb. 25 from 5-8 p.m. at the CHS cafeteria. This free event will also include Chinese refreshments and craft activities hosted by the Southlake Sister Cities. From 6-8 p.m. a Chinese Speech and Talent Contest will be held by Carroll High School students.
Carroll Hockey Team Hosting Senior Night Thursday
The Carroll Hockey Association will honor graduating senior Dragon hockey players at its annual Senior Night Thursday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. p.m. at the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Farmers Branch, located at 12700 N. Stemmons Freeway. The Dragon senior hockey players and their parents will be recognized on the ice in a pre-game presentation before the varisty game vs. Richardson/Rockwall at 8:15 p.m.
