Carroll TAME Club Excels at Competition
The Carroll TAME (Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering) Club recently participated in a Fort Worth Divisional TAME Math, Science, and Engineering Competition. Dragon Students Participating in NASA Launch Party
Eubanks Intermediate School and Dawson Middle School are excited to offer students the opportunity to participate in the first NASA Student Launch Party at Carroll ISD’s Observatory on Friday, Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m. The purpose of NASA’s Student Launch Party is to promote NASA’s upcoming Multiscale Magnetosphere Mission (MMS), which is set to launch March 12, 2015. Dragon DVR Alert: Show Choir on Live TV
Be sure to watch WFAA-Channel 8 tomorrow morning or set your DVR to see the Carroll Show Choir live on television. The students will perform during Good Morning Texas on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The show begins at 9 a.m.
Carroll Basketball Teams Host Richland Tonight
Both Carroll basketball teams return home tonight to face Richland in District 7-6A action. The Lady Dragons play at 6:30 p.m. and the boys play at 8 p.m. at Carroll Senior High School. During halftime, middle school basketball players will be recognized. Also, before the boys' game a special presentation will be made for the 1,500 career point club inductee.
Dragons Superior at UIL Contest
Carroll Dragon Band students earned over 200 Superior medals at last weekend’s competition in Frisco. The Region 24 UIL Solo and Ensemble contest was held at Liberty High School. Details about the awards and the next round of competition are posted on MySouthlakeNews.com.
Dragons Gear for District Wrestling Tournament Wednesday
The Carroll Dragon wrestling team will compete for the District 4 Championship Wednesday at Keller High School. The event will start at 9:30 a.m.
Celebrate Chinese Spring Festival with Southlake Sister Cities & CHS Chinese Club
Carroll High School will host a Chinese Spring Festival to celebrate the Chinese New Year on Feb. 25 from 5-8 p.m. at the CHS cafeteria. This free event will also include Chinese refreshments and craft activities hosted by the Southlake Sister Cities. From 6-8 p.m. a Chinese Speech and Talent Contest will be held by Carroll High School students.
Carroll Celebrates National School Counseling Week
The Carroll ISD joins districts across the country in recognizing the unique contributions of professional school counselors in U.S. school systems. This year, National School Counseling week will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 2 - Friday, Feb. 6. Carroll ISD has 20 counselors serving Dragon students. Read the complete story on MySouthlakeNews.com.
Dragons Go Red Update: Online Registration for Blood Drive
The annual Dragons Go Red campaign returns this month. This year, Carroll ISD is teaming up with Carroll Senior High School Student Council for a district wide blood drive. The drive will be Thursday, Feb. 19 at CSHS. Click here to make a reservation online. Annual Band Bistro Returns to CSHS
The Carroll Dragon Band Boosters and students will host the annual Band Bistro on Saturday, Feb. 7. Guests are welcome to enjoy an Italian dinner and dessert accompanied by music from Carroll Band Students. The Bistro takes place inside the Carroll High School cafeteria. Counseling Department Welcomes Guest Speaker Tuesday
The Carroll ISD Counseling Department will host Jennifer Sartin, MS, LCDC-Addiction Specialist, on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Sartin is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a member of the Southlake Community. Her presentation on related addition issues will be given twice - 9 a.m. and again at 7 p.m. Both engagements will be at the Carroll High School Lecture Hall located at 800 White Chapel. Southlake Basketball Hosting Tryouts Sunday February 15
Southlake Basketball will host boys' and girls' spring/summer team tryouts for grades 5-9 Sunday, Feb. 15 at Carroll Senior High School. Session I will be for grades 5-6 from 2-3:45 p.m. Session II will be for grades 7-8 from 4-5:45 p.m. Session III will be for 9th graders from 6-7:45 p.m. The tryout skills session is free. The season will run from late March through June. Deadline to register is Feb. 14. On-site registration will also be available. Register here.
Dragon Cheer Tryout Packets Available
Carroll Dragon Cheer announces important dates for students interested in tryouts. Tryout packets will be available for pickup at Carroll Middle, Dawson Middle, Carroll High and Carroll Senior High campuses the week of Monday, Feb. 2. There is a mandatory tryout meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. in the CHS lecture hall. The annual Winter Cheer Clinic is Saturday, Feb. 14. Click here to download registration form.
