Bear Creek Lake Park has three new cabins available for year-round reservations! Each cabin is $55/night and sleeps up to six people on bunk beds. Each cabin has heat, electricity and an adjacent picnic table and fire ring. Bear Creek Lake Park is also proud to announce that all campsites are now available for registration online!

"Coming Together to Celebrate Nature Where We Live" 
Join us at Bear Creek Lake Park from 8 a.m - 1 p.m. for our annual Earth Day Volunteer Project! A volunteer lunch is provided and park entry fee is waived for all volunteers. Battle the Bear Mountain Bike Race - Saturday, May 4 
This mountain bike race has become a favorite for bikers from all areas of the state and is now part of the Rocky Mountain Endurance race series! We anticipate a very busy day at the park and encourage other trail users to find alternate destinations. For more information visit www.warriorscycling.com
 
Spring Wildflower Hike -  Saturday, May 18
Join a park naturalist and members of the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service as we explore the spring flowers on display at William F. Hayden Park on Green Mountain. Please register by May 14 at www.lakewood.org

Let's Go Fishing! - Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 
The first full weekend in June is a no-license-required fishing weekend in the State of Colorado! Join the park naturalists and Colorado Division of Wildlife at the Stone House Shelter and learn the basics of fishing! We will have 50 fishing poles to give away on a first-come, first-served basis. National Trails Day - Saturday, June 1 
Come work n' play at William Frederick Hayden Park in celebration of National Trails Day! From 8 a.m. to noon we will be building and repairing trails and signage followed by mountain bike demos and other fun events from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Naturalist activities are available throughout the day for the kids, and lunch is provided for all volunteers. Event partners include Jefferson County Open Space, Wheat Ridge Cyclery, Colorado Mountain Bike Association and Yeti Cycles. Please register online at www.lakewood.org 

Saturday Night Campfire Program - Saturday, June 8
Join us at the Bear Creek Lake Park Visitor Center Amphitheater for our first Saturday Night Campfire Program of the 2013 season! Brian Kell from Metro State's Outdoor Adventure Program will be speaking on Leave No Trace, outdoor ethics and summer safety. A marshmallow roast will follow, weather permitting.
