The Chatham Club

Greetings!

We're all looking for signs that winter is over so that we can enjoy the arrival of spring. For some that means the NHL playoffs, for others it's college basketball's March Madness, or the MLB's spring training.

Around here, the Club's winter Cardi-O Canada Challenge has wrapped up. The Green Team's 10 members get the prize, jointly logging 5,972 virtual miles in six weeks. All 60 participants are winners on the fitness front and deserving of our congratulations!

Spring is a good time to refresh your workout routine. We invite all our members to schedule a free tune-up with one of our expert and friendly Fitness Trainers.

Many young athletes head outside to play and compete during the spring. Our Sports Performance Training program is geared up to help your middle, high school and college students perform at their very best.

Meanwhile, it's Member Referral Month at The Chatham Club. Read on to find out how both you and your friends can benefit...

In good health,
Chris

New Class Added to the Schedule

barre body sculpt
w/ Rachelle

Sundays, 10:30 - 11:30am
Studio A

This fat-burning format will lift your derriere, sculpt arms, tone legs, flatten abs and elongate the appearance of your body in record-breaking time.

This unique, core-based high energy/no impact class combines barre work and light weights with continual fat burning motion. When working at a ballet barre, you have a sense of center and balance that allows you to concentrate on the muscle group you are working on. The body is worked as both a coordinated whole and in isolated muscle groups, maximizing the body's full potential.

You'll have fun while getting in shape in a comfortable atmosphere. You don't have to be a dancer to enjoy this great workout!

All levels welcome. Complete class schedule here.

Please welcome Rachelle Cohen to our group exercise staff.
Rachelle has been involved in the fitness industry for the past 18 years. She is a certified group exercise instructor through AFAA. Rachelle has studied ballet, modern jazz and many other dance forms. She believes in varying her group exercise class routines to maintain interest and motivation.

Kinesis-Pilates Studio

The Benefits of Kinesis Training

In addition to overall strength, Kinesis training emphasizes functional fitness. Unlike a traditional weight-lifting machine in which the weight moves in one direction, Kinesis machines allow 360-degree movement, which not only increases strength but also improves balance and stability. The integration of neuromuscular and skeletal systems aims to improve muscle responsiveness with a low-impact workout.

Kinesis machines train your muscles in integrated groups rather than isolation to improve muscle function and efficiency. The intricate exercise routines with small movements enhance coordination and stability, focusing on injury prevention and rehabilitation.

A study using Kinesis fitness equipment at the Cooper Aerobics Center demonstrated significant gains in overall body strength over six weeks. These participants saw an increase in upper and lower body strength, an increase in muscular endurance and gains in muscle mass that had not been achieved by traditional strength training.

Ready to try a Kinesis class? Please sign up at our front desk. Kinesis class schedule.

NEW CLASS ADDED - Thursday evenings, 6:15 - 6:45pm w/ Dana in the Kinesis-Pilates Studio
