The Chatham Club

After a particularly long and hard winter, May flowers signal the renewal of spring. Here at The Chatham Club we're pleased to announce workshops and classes to help facilitate your renewal.

For young adults returning home for the summer there are special student memberships. And athletes ages 12 and older can up their game with an individually tailored program of Sports Performance Training.

Read on to learn about the many worthy causes that Club members and staff support. You'll find out how you can participate in several upcoming events...

In good health,

Are You Traveling Soon?

IHRSA Passport Program

Are you making travel plans for the summer? If you are, you know, as a fitness enthusiast, how important it is to maintain your healthy habits when you are on the road. It can be tough to eat healthy while traveling, and getting an effective workout in the hotel gym is often impossible.

That is where the IHRSA Passport Program comes in handy. Because The Chatham Club is a member of IHRSA, you have guest privileges to a network of quality clubs worldwide.

Visit healthclubs.com/passport

to locate a participating club in the area where you will be traveling. To use the Passport Program, simply askBarbara, Chris or Janet for a valid Passport ID.

Safe travels!

We are proud to introduce...
Sports Performance Training
at The Chatham Club.

When describing the physical attributes that contribute to athletic success, we focus on strength, power, endurance, speed, quickness, agility, movement skill, deceleration, balance, reactivity, aerobic power, anaerobic capacity, flexibility, coordination and body awareness.

Each sport requires a different combination of these physical characteristics for success. When designing sports performance programs for young athletes, it is important to match the appropriate skills with each sport's requirements, while also evaluating each athlete's strengths and weaknesses in the above areas. Young athletes need unique exercises that feed into the skill requirements of their sports. When it comes to running and walking we all have unique gaits, joint motion and different footwear needs. The way your foot rolls when it hits the ground is known as pronation. If you're a runner, it's essential to know what type of pronator you are to find the correct running shoe.

Modern Athlete is an independently owned and operated specialty running and fitness-enthusiast store located in Florham Park. John Williams, owner of Modern Athlete, utilizes a state of the art video analysis of the individual's stride and biomechanics. Combining the video analysis with an understanding of each individual's injury and running history, John and his staff are able to ensure a proper fit for your stride.
