Spotlight on: The Olympia Free Clinic
Andy is a college student with hopes of becoming a teacher. He's had some troublesome health problems but, like many college students, he lacked the resources to obtain health care. Shortly after The Olympia Free Clinic opened in 2011, Andy heard about their services and went to see if they could help him.

Andy, volunteering at the clinic
As a result of his visit to the clinic, he was referred to Thurston County Project Access, a program of CHOICE Regional Health Network, which connects patients in need with medical professionals willing to donate services. Project Access referred him to a specialist able to perform the necessary tests and procedures to investigate Andy's health problems.
During one of these tests (one he probably wouldn't have had for another 20 years) something unrelated to his complaints was found and removed. Later, the specialist told him that the removal "likely prevented [Andy's] getting cancer."
The Olympia Free Clinic volunteers impressed Andy so much with their enthusiasm and interest in helping to solve his problems, that he quickly signed up as a volunteer so he could help other people in need.
