It's not too late to sign up for Day of Caring!
Join us!  Sign up to lend a hand and ask your friends, church group, club, team, or business to sign up and join the fun too. We could use all hands on deck for this county-wide Day of Caring! And did we mention, there's PARTY afterwards!

One of the largest volunteer events in our community, Day of Caring brings together businesses, service groups, stu
dents and others to form volunteer teams to complete one-day projects for local nonprofit organizations. For information on how to sign up, visit our website or contact Day of Caring Coordinator, Megan Hawthorne.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Day of Caring in Thurston County, we're ha

What we're doing to advance the common good, one program at a time

United Way has awarded over $425,000 this year in competitive grants through our Community Care Fund. These funds improve the lives children and adults throughout the Thurston County area.  Our annual campaign to raise funds for next year's grants begins this September. Please join us and look for opportunities to give through your workplace or as an individual.

Great programs your gifts are supporting:

ROOF Community Services Kids' Place After School and Summer Program provides help with schoolwork and skills improvement to low-income and at-risk children, grades K-5, who need extra guidance and care.

Interfaith Works' Sidewalk Advocacy & Support Center is a volunteer-operated support center for the homeless that specializes in community engagement and coordination of resources. Sidewalk's goal is to end homelessness through volunteerism and prevention tactics.

Community Youth Service's Rosie's Place Drop-in Resource Center provides support to homeless youth in the Downtown Olympia area. This important resource distributes food and provides health care, as well as provides support services to marginalized, homeless and street youth.

These are just a few examples of the dedicated organizations receiving United Way's funding. To learn about other programs, visit our website.
