Everyone is invited to join us for the 20th annual DAY OF CARING on Friday, September 21, 2012.
One of the largest volunteer events in our community, Day of Caring brings together businesses, service groups, students and others to form volunteer teams to complete one-day projects for local nonprofit organizations. There are lots of ways to get involved:
Host a community volunteer project at your school or non-profit organization.
Gather your civic group, professional organization, workplace or neighborhood association together to complete a project.
Register as an individual volunteer and we'll team you up with others!

Women's Leadership Council awards $45,100 in grants for 2012-13
The Women's Leadership Council (WLC) aims to help women acquire the life-long skills needed to support themselves and their families. Their goal is to positively impact the lives of women by promoting self-sufficiency and financial stability.
This year the WLC has awarded funding to the following programs:
CIELO The Sewing Project: $10,000
GRuB The Kitchen Garden Project: $10,000
Family Education and Support Services
Winning at Parenting : $6,500
Agency Collaboration Pilot Project: $3,500
POWER Leadership Development Program: $10,000
Thurston Asset Building Coalition Financial Coaching Program: $5,100
