The SFCA Board Of Directors and 2015 Welcome Committee
As September comes to a close we look forward to another strong season with new hotels coming online. Kudos to SFCA board member Brian Bean for his efforts with Boys and Girls Club of Miami and our Back to School campaign. An amazing array of school supplies where donated by our sponsors and members, including 20+ book bags thanks to Kelly Fishing Fleet, and a brand new Dell PC, thanks to Captain Stan Saffan and Therapy IV. Brian does not rest on his laurels. He is already planning the future as we collect candy for our Halloween campaign with Kristi House in October. Last year we donated close to 1,000 bags of candy. Now that was a TREAT! The Florida Conference was a resounding success with 167+ in attendance and some of the most dynamic speakers to date. The dates for next year's conference have been set. We look forward to welcoming even more September 6-8, 2016 somewhere in Broward County.
In closing, I would like to acknowledge the hardest working board I have ever had the honor or working with. To plan a conference as dynamic as FCC 2015; it takes a village. When called upon, the SFCA "villagers" rose to the occasion and worked in every aspect of the program. Success is never final and it certainly does not happen in a bubble. It takes a group with dedication and passion. Your 2015-2016 Board of Directors has all these attributes and more.
The Best is Yet to Come......
THANK YOU for all that you have done and continue to do EVERYDAY!
Warm Regards,
Miguel Pena

DiningOut Miami mentions the new addition to South Beach, 9Beach
"Introducing 9beach Miami. Israeli hospitality brand 9beach opens its first U.S. location. Just when you think that South Beach had exhausted its list of trendy nightlife destinations, a new place pops up that makes all its predecessors seem, well, a bit bland. 9beach Miami (1626 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach; 786.327.6073) has managed to do just that-emerging as one of the hottest places in town."

1) Wine by the Bay
While many people enjoy contemporary art, even more people enjoy drinking wine while looking at art or drinking wine while looking at wine. Through this realization and with the aid of other enophiles with wine-business savvy, Stefano merged his passions for art and wine under the moniker Wine by the Bay, located downtown. "I am looking forward to offering something that everyone enjoys and in an environment where the art can be appreciated by many and in an unintimidating way," Campanini says of the new, modern, 1,200-square-foot fine-wine and art boutique with terrace views of Biscayne Bay and a steady rotation of exhibitions. "At art openings, wine is like a sideshow, but now, it will take center stage."
2) Lagniappe
Cozy New Orleans-style wine bar with a shabby-chic decor supplying barbecue & live music nightly.
3) Schnebly Redland'sWinery
Off the beaten path and colored with lush greenery and waterfalls, this Homestead grape paradise offers a roster of innovative wines made with fusions of tropical South Florida fruits like mango, guava, avocado and coconut and also brews ales and wheat beers with fruity finishes. Visitors can also tour the estate, indulge in tastings or growlers or attend special events in the hutlike pavilion.
4) PAMM Third Thursdays
Every third Thursday of the month, PAMM brings together an eclectic range of internationally-acclaimed DJs and musicians for an outdoor music series on the terrace by the bay. The series kicks off with a focus on experimental sounds and diverse cross-genre dance music. Reflecting the role of the museum as a cultural port and social gathering place, this evening series embraces the artistry of sound as an essential part of the creative landscape. Free with museum admission. Drink specials and light bites from Verde restaurant and bar.
Finally, enjoy wine with friends wherever you deem most appropriate with the help of this fantastic new service - Club W. They send you three bottles a month based off of your specific preferences. The cost? The same that you would spend on wine at the store - but these bottles get delivered to your door. Click picture above for more info!

COOL APPS & TECH
VHS Camcorder
Android/iOS
VHS Camcorder turns your iPhone into a 90s video camera, complete with the timestamp, the bad audio quality, and the tracking distortion that we all know too well.
Numerous
Android/iOS
Claiming to track "life's most important numbers", Numerous aims to be a single dashboard for your digital stats, from steps counted by your fitness-tracker, to your social media followers or the number of days until your anniversary. A fun tool for number-crunchers.
Karen
Android/iOS
Karen sounds a bit scary at first: a "life coach" who asks you questions in order to build a psychological profile of you. Except, as you go along, there's more to it interactions than you expected. Part science and part interactive drama, and always thought-provoking.
