CELEBRATE CHINESE CULTURE AT DADELAND MALL
Month-long celebration of culture, fashion and art on
display at Dadeland Mall in February

MIAMI, FL (January 30, 2015) - Chinese New Year is upon us, and Dadeland Mall invites the Miami community to celebrate the entire month of February with a not-to-be-missed lineup of special events. From February 12th - 28th, guests can view a mall wide exhibition of Chinese historical fashion, partake in our Art Talk series, and enjoy the sounds and sights of Chinese music and performances. All these family-friendly activities are designed to provide an auspicious and exciting start to the Year of the Sheep.

Dadeland Mall patrons can experience a visual history of China through our Chinese Fashion exhibition, featuring six curated wardrobes from significant periods in China. In conjunction with Macy's, these outfits will be exhibited throughout the mall, and each display will communicate the history of the outfit to shoppers. All pieces have been kindly loaned to Dadeland Mall by the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Miami (TECO). You can find more information about TECO at www.taiwanembassy.org.

"This celebration is an exciting way to teach our community about Chinese culture," said Dailen Rodriguez, director of marketing and business development at Dadeland Mall.

Experience concerts exploring the highly tempestuous and deeply emotional intermingling of music and politics. Music Director Franz Welser-Mst takes a fascinating look at two highly autobiographical composers, whose lives and careers were separated by over a century, yet whose works demonstrate how artists of two eras wrestled with themes of freedom, personal and collective liberty, and politics.

Miami, FL 33143

A mysterious team of people traveled the world finding recipes, came back to South Miami, opened a restaurant and executed those worldly dishes awesomely. Oh, and they make bread to go with everything, fresh, warm, homemade bread of all sorts (focaccia, naan, etc).

Drunken Dragon
1424 Alton Road
Miami Beach, FL 33139

The Alton Road construction isn't getting in the way of Drunken Dragon's big debut one bit. It's already difficult to land a table at SoBe's new Asian gastropub (especially a Korean barbecue-style one), but probably worth a try.

L'echon Brasserie

The Pubbelly Boys' latest culinary offering tackles French cuisine (with their signature playful twist, of course) in their first ever hotel restaurant at the Hilton Cabana Miami Beach.

CoolApp

COOL APPS

Those Days

iOS

Everybody is nostalgic at a point in their lives, and this calendar app is betting on that. This is one of the best iOS apps I've come across lately, and it's completely free right now on iTunes. Usually, it costs $3 save for a cent, but it's always better to get things free, if possible. Those Days is a calendar application that doubles as a journal, reminder and photo application all at the same time. You can add photos to days of the calendar, which then show up as a tile in the calendar itself, which to me, looks like my childhood.

Until Ago

iOS

If you like lists, deadlines and checklists, this is the app for you. Until Ago is a very simple app that exploits your need for timelines: it counts down to stuff. You can create events, like a Valentine's Day date, and set the app to count down until you have to reach the bus, until you have to buy the tickets for the Paris trip you've planned for your sweetheart or until you find an actual date, whichever. You can also count the days you quit smoking, left your job, kept your job, finished university so that you can keep track of your overall progress in life.

WireShare
iOS

Office apps are a necessity for most iPhone and iPad users, so we couldn't leave one off the best iOS apps list for the month. Especially since some of you still have school work to keep up with. Spring break is still ahead, though. Until then, you can use WireShare to read all kinds of text, image and audio files, so that you can stay up to date with things. The neat thing about the app is that it can import files through email, Wi-Fi direct, iTunes, Dropbox, Box, SkyDrive, Google Drive and many more, which makes it a pretty comprehensive tool

FEB 10

Went on a girls trip to Miami where it was all of our first time visiting. Stayed at the Surfcomber and had an amazing time- mostly due to Brad the concierge. After a long flight from California when we checked in we had just missed the wine happy hour that the hotel provides every evening and were bummed out. Brad could tell we were upset we had just missed the cut off and brought us each a free glass of wine which brightened our day and started our stay off with a nice touch. He was incredibly friendly and helpful, he set us up with some great dinners as well as nightlife outings. He had great recommendations on what we should do/ see during our stay and always greeted us when we were in the lobby.

InterContinental Miami

FEB 12

Staff as this hotel is truly exceptional! Ones that stood out most were the chef concierge Rosello and Juan at the club level room. Rosello recommended and made our reservations to the hotel's restaurant Toro Toro and to Trulock's which both were phenomenal recommendations! He kindly advised the restaurants that it was our anniversary and the managers and staff congratulated us while there!
