From democratandchronicle.com - The sale of the former headquarters of Gannett Co. Inc. and the Democrat and Chronicle to developers with local ties has been finalized, D&C Digital President Dan Norselli announced in a memo to employees on Wednesday.

He said the sale of the five-story, 153,350-square-foot building at the corner of Exchange Boulevard and West Broad Street has been completed to DHD Ventures of Rochester and Morgan Management of Pittsford. Calls to both developers were not immediately returned.

The building was sold for $2.65 million, said Gannett East Group President Michael Kane, former president and publisher of the Democrat and Chronicle.

"This completes the last stage of our move to a new headquarters and sets the stage for the next phase of our growth," Norselli told employees. "The sale of the old building frees us from the distraction being landlords of a legacy complex. This allows us the flexibility to innovate as we must, and to empower our community to connect, act and thrive." More
