WHAT OUR STUDENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT UMS

"  I would say the service provided by UMS can be best described as top-notch quality. This is not an exaggeration as right from my first contact with UMS the service has been prompt, sincere, considerate & most professional. This professionalism has been a hallmark of UMS until now, each & every time!"
-Kim Leong Edward Lee

"I am currently working in the metaphysical field, so this will add to my credibility.  UMS does a fantastic job.  The program filled in a lot of blanks even in fields I already studied for years. The teachings came from a very high place of understanding and enlightenment."

-Annie Ueber

" I was practicing meditation before to start to study with UMS. However all the meditation exercises presented in the coursework had very specific scope and targets. Through these meditation exercises I went through a new path discovering part of my personality and consciousness that I was not aware of ."

-Gabriele Arrighetti

"It (my UMS coursework) has provided me oppor- tunities to learn about new ways to consider similiar subjects I have studied elsewhere. This helps me to relate to others in a better way - speaking the same language so to speak. Others who are aware that I am studying through the UMS are interested in hearing what I am studing - explaining what I am learning helps to reinforce my understanding and knowledge of the subjects. This course also helped to expand my knowledge in areas that I had not studied before - nor even heard about before."

-Bonnie Dysinger

Grace in Sickness and in Health
   -Elizabeth Erenberger
Altar from Julie's Celebration of Life
With this newsletter we honor the first New Moon of 2015. A time of journeying through the unknown and calling on our inner guidance for the strength to persevere.

This is the first newsletter I have created since the passing of my Mother, Julie Cunningham, perhaps our newsletter's biggest fan.

As I walked with my Mother (physically and spiritually) through the final days of her life, I was mystified by her grace and the peaceful trusting of her own unique process. My Mother was not afraid to die, and her fearlessness was a deep spiritual lesson to the very end.

Her passing was a one of the most eye opening spiritual experiences I have ever known, feeling in so many ways like more of a birth than a death; causing pain, healing and relief in one spirit-supported swoop.

I realize that we associate with marriage the idea of loving someone through sickness and health, but that this idea can apply to all of our relations, throughout their personal transformative healing processes. How do we hold on to grace in the most trying of moments, when we feel most alone, and disappointed with life's path? What is it that makes a passing feel graceful, whether sudden or prolonged?

In my Mother's case, it was the simple things: a smile, her laughter, delicious foods, being invested in the dreams of others, and refusing to waste time on anything less than positive interactions. She brought to my awareness how much we have a choice in each moment, in each relationship, to decide what it is that we do and don't "have time for." We have the choice to decide what we choose to embrace and support, and what we find to be depleting or less than satisfying. We have the right to imagine ourselves as being worthy of only the best, from the very first breath to the very last. We define our own sense of luxury, our sense of abundance and connection, and perhaps most importantly our perceptions of love.

So I encourage you this New Moon as you wander through these times of uncertainty and dormant seeds, to imagine yourself in the ultimate dreamworld. What is your heart's true desire? If you knew you only had a short time to live, what is it you had hoped to accomplish? What is it you deserve that you have never fully allowed yourself? How do we truly live each precious day as if it was our last?

There are some answers only you can find, some inspirations only you can define.
I invite you to explore your inner warrior and call in those things which have been unattended in the corners of your psyche. Let's face the uncertainty with a smile and an embrace. Let's find the lesson each shadow has to show us, and move forward with increased passion for the love of the self.

Time is precious, and those who have passed watch with anxious eyes. For our angels also want to see us live free. And by living our truth, by accepting abundance, by believing in ourselves, we do them honor.

Do not hesitate to call on the spiritual circle of our global UMS community, for I felt them strongly throughout this transformative process. We are all so interconnected, our experiences united by the threads of human mystery. We are not alone in our sorrows, or in our joy. It is up to us to choose life, to open our lungs and breath in the gift of human sanctity.

Blessed be sweet Mama, may you rest in peace.

Rooms with a View
A Bachelors Creative Project By Deborah Reed

Indian Proverb: Everyone is a house with four rooms, a physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time but, unless we go into every room every day, even if only to keep it aired, we are not a complete person.

Art piece - three dimensional collage

"The Physical Room represents your body and how it interacts with the world, contains your basic physiological needs like hunger, thirst, sex, rest. This is the room that stores stress and can lead to physical imbalance and disease. One must consider for example if you are eating the right foods, getting enough exercise, rest, touch? For me, this room can be aired and nurtured by eating organic, making love, exercising, dancing, doing yoga. "

"The Mental Room is the room that affects your work life, or areas in which you may be stuck and stagnant. This room is significant in that it is a reminder not to be stuck in old beliefs and habits which might hold you back on your journey or affects your quality of life. It is necessary to air this room with new ideas and thoughts, to learn new things, to have new experiences and activities and to not be judgmental of your own personal inner dialog that affects your choices."

"The Emotional Room is a place that needs to be visited often because our emotions have such a strong impact on our physical well being. Emotions go beyond our physical experiences and fill virtually every body cell with their respective energy, both positive and negative. This room gets nurtured by spending time with friends and family, giving and receiving hugs, cooking and nurturing others and ourselves, and by practicing compassion and generosity."

"The Spiritual Room was the hardest for me to bring together in a meaningful way. I think it was because I was searching for all the same symbology that I had used in the first three boxes. This is the room of Spirit and self-awareness and aids in finding meaning and life purpose. Meditation is a powerful way to air this room, as well as shamanic journeying. It is the room I think I personally am not visiting enough, the room I keep trying to get comfortable in."

"The spiritual message of the Four Rooms is that it is a personal journey, one that is unique for each person. Enjoy the journey, indulge yourself and feel free to investigate all the various paths that lead to awakening for yourself. It is different for everyone of us, that is what makes us unique as well as the same. "

Poems from the Hearts of our Magical Students

Our Mother, Earth-

I didn't hear her crying
I was busy with myself

My wants and acquisitions
My status and my wealth

I was busy making money
I was busy making friends

Never gave a thought about her
Never thought to make amends

I took whatever pleased me
I thought I had the right

I thought I was some kind of god
And not some thief about the night

I justified and compromised
Till my soul I could not reach

She made me twist in anger
At the code I held in breach

Thou shall not kill, thou shall not rape,
Thou shall not steal and whore

Thou shall be kind and care for her
But instead I went to war

Still I didn't see her dying
I kept reputing what I'd done

In the name of Jesus Christ, Muhammad
Father, Ghost and Son

But she was good and never ceased
To meet my needs and let me live

No matter what it cost her
She'd always more to give

And her dying breath was there to take
So I blindly took that too

I put the garbage in those big black bags
And left them there for you

I didn't think her dying
Would matter in the end

When I was busy making money
I didn't need her then

When I took whatever pleased me
And it looked like there was more

I never thought to do the dishes
Never thought to sweep the floor

I didn't see the scrying
Though the signs were all around

When you sink a ship where're its bound
You know you're bound to drown

Then I heard the crying
And I stopped to see where for

I saw the source was none but me
And then I cried forever more

If you thought the one I spoke of
As my lover or my wife

So small such thoughts of man
She is the Mother of all Life

"Humanity Tree" by UMS Student Stacy Thompson

Good-bye-

Good-bye my friend.
May you reach your destination
With Ease of Passage.

Fare-well, my companion.
Go with God in peace.

Though you are out of my sight
You are ever in my heart.

May the distance between us
Be as nothing.

Until that great day when we are reunited
You will be missed my friend.

Gone but not forgotten.
We will see each other again some day.

And the joy of our reunion will be great.
But until that day, good-bye.

Creating With Your Hands (to Give From the Heart)
Creative Crafting with UMS  Bachelor Student Linda Moullae

Spiritual Message of Project:
The ability to create or become an alchemist is in us all.

Firstly I am not the most "hands on" creative person in the world and the thought of painting or sculpturing some- thing did not initially turn me on. So I did the exercise that was suggested and asked spirit what I should create.

After a couple of days, I was in the shower and it was like an "aha" moment. I had been pondering my grandchildren's eczema problems and my step daughters pregnancy. I heard in my head I was an alchemist and to make soap. I admired the beautiful soap my husband had purchased at the health store which was a pretty pink colour and had a pleasant aroma. He had decided to buy from the health store as he was finding his skin was feeling very dry and had wondered if it had been the commercial soaps we had in the bathroom which were irritating him. I had this strong urge to learn and make soap and make it so good and pure that the grand-children's skin would feel better from it.

I cant explain how strong this urge was - it was almost obsessive! I also kept thinking and really don't know if you will except this as a creative project - but oh well I can only tell it as it happened!

I researched for weeks! I looked at the different healing properties of different oils, herbs and essential oils. I watched tutorials on handling sodium  hydroxide - a necessary evil in the soap making process that -if done correctly- is rendered completely harmless in the final product. I had read about different soaps and had a keen interest in goats milk soaps for their proteins and alpha hydroxyl properties but also found it is quite expensive to purchase. My cheese maker son-in-law saw what I was reading and instantly said he could get me free goats milk! So using cold pressed or virgin oils with goats milk wasn't going to be to much of a burden on the purse.

I followed the instructions and made my first batch- it was amazing! Two hours flew by, I was so absorbed in the process. The disappointing thing was as it was from scratch cold processed soap, it would take 4 weeks to cure before it could be used. Every night for a the first week I made batches of soap, and now it is three times a week!

I love that time in the kitchen where I "zone"out and I literally get lost in what I am doing. I also find I have been blessing the ingredients and using reiki on the final products - I would like anyone that comes in contact with these soaps to feel better for the fact. I have concentrated on pure soap for the sensitive skin family members but get really excited when I use natural colours and essential oils.

The test came and when I tried my soap I couldn't believe how moisturising it was - I gave it to step-daughters to try on the children's  eczema ridden skin. I also handed out some of my creative coloured and fragranced soaps for them to try personally. The feed back was fantastic - the soap didn't irritate or hurt the children's skin and it actually started to look and feel better. It hasn't cured the eczema (yet lol)- but their mother is very grateful to be using something that is better than what the Doctor/chemist had to offer because it is relatively inexpensive, actually smells and feels nice and isn't chemical laden.

I have since started washing my hair with the soap - it is fantastic! My husband has given some to co-workers and they all want more! Especially the ones that suffer with sensitive skin.

At this stage I have had thoughts of creating soaps using the essence of crystals and using the colours of the chakras and researching the essential oils of each chakra to place into soaps. I just need more time in the day. The whole experience has been so much fun and satisfying. I would never have dreamed 6 months ago I would be using my spare time to make soap - and enjoy it!

New Release Books From Our Talented Students
Ollie Bears
by Tracy O'Mara
I recently have been inspired by the Angels to write a series of children's books called, "Ollie Bears Adventures with the Rainbow Heart Light". The books are infused with healing energy from our angelic friends with the intention to heal, inspire, empower, spark imagination, and bring joy to the reader young and old alike. The first story is about Ollie Bear's connection to the Rainbow Heart Light. Ollie Bear is born with a heart defect which requires open heart surgery and his parents are very worried. In today's world heart defects are the most common birth defect, present in one out of every one hundred children born, and claim twice as many lives each year as all forms of childhood cancer combined. In this story, Ollie Bear's Grandma Bear teaches Mommy Bear and Daddy Bear how to use the energy of the Rainbow Heart Light to send healing through the help of the Angel Bears. More Information
