The Leo Lunation
by Zy Danielson
The Summer of Super Moons continues. The Full Moon on August 10th will be the second of three "Super Moons," i.e., appearing larger than usual to Earth. But with more than just visual beauty, the Leo Lunation occurs while the Sun and Moon are conjunct Jupiter. This is a lunation best approached in a spirit of playfulness. It is powerful, gigantic, and fun!
Leo is the sign of the Heart, ruled by the Sun. During this Lunation we will deliver and receive lessons concerning leadership and power. This is the Lunation of Kings and Queens. We will sit both on the throne and alternately in front of it as we regally rule our universe and humbly sit in audience, subject to the rule of others. We will visit and rehearse both roles, sometimes in startling and sudden contrast.. Leo Lunation Continued |

Massage this mixture into the kale firmly with both hands.
Place prepared kale in a dehydrator.
Dehydrate on 105 for about 12 hours.
*Feel free to omit the chili powder if you want less spice.
*Play around with other spices like fresh cilantro, mustard and cumin.
That's it! Delish!
*Kale chips will store for a couple of weeks, but they always get eaten in a couple of days at my house. They are great for school and work lunches, and snacks!

WHAT OUR STUDENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT UMS
"The meditations have been quite remarkable in connecting me with my intuitive higher self as well as helping me in getting insights for creating new paintings and artwork. Every meditation has been phenomenal in helping me transform myself for the better...Your compassion, love and professionalism are precious and very much appreciated." -Huma Mehmood
"I have found myself to be more conscious of how and what I say to people in my practice. I have been humbled and amazed by what I assumed I knew, when in fact, over the 40 years of this work, I have glossed over areas I conveniently put on the back burner. I listen more closely now, make better eye contact and feel more authentic in my people skills. Thank you University!!!"

Jupiter Moves Into Leo for the next year | |
|
Now is a time of expansion! Jupiter has made it's annual transition into the next sign, the sign of Leo, magnifying our vision, and aiming it's spotlight onto our lives, making life's happenings harder to ignore. Jupiter in Leo demands that we be ourselves, just for the sake of shedding our light, rather than for recognition. It is a time for developing and embracing our inner light, our confidence, and our courage. |
|
As Leo meets Jupiter our relationships are changing, allowing us to move forward quickly, and stimulate inner awakenings. It is a time to allow our inner selves to shine as brightly as the sun, just as Leo suggests. It is up to us to do the work required to consciously let go of fears and ensure that our ego does not dominate in this time of power and responsibility. It is a time to give selflessly, become less ego centered, and open up to a whole "new world" which is already inside of you.

Ms. Margaret Branch, Long Term UMS Advisor, Mentor (and all around Inspirational Being)-
For most of our students this is a reintroduction. If you have submitted exams pertaining to courses with meditations, you have received the honest and heartfelt feedback of our long-term advisor, Ms. Margaret Branch.
Margaret has been with UMS since 2005, and reviews student exams and short answer responses to the meditation experience.
Margaret is a creative spirit with a love for music, art, dream therapy and pet portraiture. She is a mother of three beautiful daughters, and a loving grandmother.
Her hard work and devotion is at the core of UMS success and progress, encouraging students to follow their dreams and manifest the reality they truly desire. We continue to receive an influx of emails from our students appreciating the irreplaceable and inspiring feedback and guidance Margaret has to offer.
We are so proud to have her as a member of our team here at UMS, and want to honor her for all she does to keep the vibrations running high, and the students feeling supported as they move through the educational process, and engage in the healing spiritual adventure UMS tends to initiate.

Ongoing retreats at Gaia Sagrada
|
|

Deep in the hills of Ecuador, find your inner peace and center yourself among the serene landscapes, lush gardens, majestic mountains, and spectacular wildlife. Come experience for yourself this powerful vortex of energy where the medicine of the North meets the medicine of the South for a life changing and heart opening journey into the way of the shaman. Visit the Gaia Sagrada Website
"Gaia Sagrada is a place where dreams become reality and magic shine in every moment. I had the time of my life over 12 days this April on a retreat with some of the most wonderful people. Each ceremony got consecutively more amazing with wonderful healing and very powerful energy. The medicine's were just perfect for what needed to be done individually and for the whole group together. We all connected deeply and found many truths within the sacred fire that burns in all the hearts of those that visit and live at Gaia Sagrada. It was an experience that I will take with me always wherever I go and the sound of the tree frog will tick tock, click clock in times of need. The Shamans were wonderful and helped facilitate a unique space and helpful guidance for each ceremony. It felt like being reborn every day, by the end I felt like a new person blessed by benevolent spirits and truly grateful for all the love that was shared. I recommend this retreat for anyone that is looking for an awakening that is shared with great people in a beautiful setting! Thank you Christine and Bruce for taking the leap and creating such a place for people of all nations to come together and take refuge in the embrace of Gaia Sagrada!" -James, Gaia Sagrada Retreat Participant

Blessings from the Animal Kingdom

Happy new moon! One of my passions is co-creating monthly new moon women's gatherings. For me, the new moon is a time to circle up, honor my connection with the elements, the ancestors, the animals, the lunar cycle, and my own inner rhythms. It's a time to release what no longer serves me from the last cycle, give thanks for what I've completed, and set new intentions for what I want to manifest in the future.
Often, on the new moon, we open the circle with each person sharing a bit of animal medicine that has been showing up in our lives. I'm always amazed at the amount of insight gained from this simple exercise. In this way, we show gratitude for the lessons the animals bring to us and we invite even more of their wisdom into our lives.
I invite you to circle around the fire of our hearts and give thanks for all that we've received since the last new moon. I set the intention to hold space for anyone who feels called to share a bit of the animal medicine showing up in their lives.
This new moon I give thanks for dragonfly. Oh dragonfly, your iridescent wings envelop me in sweet remembering of otherworldly realms and times past. The magic of hot summers. Women gathered on rocks in shade covered creeks as dragonflies alight on glistening skin. You remind me to delve deeper and to remain open to the endless possibilities within my grasp.
What animals are showing up in your life? If you feel called to share, make a submission to your school newsletter. We will be featuring a different animal medicine each month, and welcome your submissions and stories. Email submissions to newsletter@umsonline.org.

Solving Issues in a Loving Way- (A Student Poem)
|
|
Clashing, clawing, tossing words like daggers, as out of control their hearts beat.. At each other like wild Fire-birds, feathers flying at ten thousand feet.. As they lock together, spiraling to the bottom of the canyons below.. Their eyes meet..
Savage as the untamed beast with laser glare, the heat of the moment continued, without retreat.. And then, catching their breath, knowing the rocks below await if they did not break.. Gazes soften, eyes widen, pulses slow.. The beauty of each, as a mirror they unclench, releasing the grip, that would spell their destiny.. She gracefully spreads those spectacular wings, he boldly shadows her beauty, her grace.. Both recognizing they are one and the same.. Stunning creatures of the same God.. Drifting now on currents of faith.. Like fine wine filling a glass, love spreads thru their bodies, their souls at last.. Replacing the madness, replacing the heat, with the deftness of Angels, the tips of their wings touch.. The love in their eyes tell the story as such.. Why were they arguing, a cloud may wonder, As they laugh and faint, who cares is an answer.. I see you her eyes say.. I see you his eyes say.. Together..Namaste my love.. Namaste. -Gearil Leer (UMS Student)
