and Saturday

Farmers Market
The Farmers Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m.; some vendors may stay until 1 p.m. The Market is located at the end of Ashman Street in Downtown Midland.

While not all vendors attend every market, you'll now find beans, pumpkins, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, peaches, watermelon, honeyrocks, garlic, sweet corn, peppers, beets, carrots, honey, maple syrup, hand-pressed oils, pasta, baked goods, fresh Michigan fish, local meat, eggs, cut flowers, plants, mums and more!

New this year, we even have a food court area where you can enjoy hot food. Some of those vendors may stay until 1 p.m. To keep up on Market updates, please follow the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/midlandfarmersmarket

Visit the Wolverine Bank booth to use your credit, debit or EBT card to shop at the Market.

Chamber Staff Updates

Jennelle Maki
We would like to update you on some staff changes at the Chamber. Our Program Specialist, Jennelle Maki, has resigned and accepted the position of Employee Benefits Specialist with the A.S. Arbury Insurance Agency. Maki has worked at the Chamber for almost three years, and has been instrumental in expanding and enhancing our Small Business and MYPros (Midlands Young Professionals) program. Most recently, she has also been responsible for programming our Quarterly Membership Luncheons. We appreciate her contribution to the Chamber and wish her the best in her new career.

Lindsay Rotarius
Taking over Maki's role is the promotion of Lindsay Rotarius. Rotarius has been our Farmers Market Master on a part-time basis for the last two years. She has made significant improvements to the Market, helping it become one of the best run markets in the state. While she takes over as Program Specialist, she will still retain her work with the Farmers Market. Rotarius has a BBA and her MBA through Northwood University. She has worked previously in private education, state government, the non-profit arena and a large corporation. Rotarius spends a lot of time traveling throughout Michigan and is an avid "ruck-er", which is a team endurance training method. She is originally from the Bay City area where she resides with her husband and two young children. Rotarius begins her full-time position at the Chamber on September 15, 2014. You may reach her at lrotarius@macc.org or 989-839-9522 x208.
Reality Store Volunteers Needed

Would you like to volunteer with local schools, but don't know how? We can help get you connected!

We're bringing the Reality Store program to local schools and this is a short-term, EASY way for you or your employees to get involved. The Reality Store gives students a pretend salary, checkbook and opportunity to live like an adult. They make all the same purchases that we do as adults, from health insurance to car payments. All directions and materials are provided for you; this is truly a turn-key volunteer opportunity!

Contact Diane Middleton at dmiddleton@macc.org or 839-9522 x 204 to volunteer. Morning shifts are generally from 7:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m., and afternoon shifts are generally 12:30-2:45 p.m.

Here is the schedule of upcoming Reality Stores:
Mon., November 24 - Northeast Middle School
Wed., December 17 - Meridian Junior High & High School
Fri., January 16, 2015 - Bullock Creek Middle School
Wed., April 22, 2015 - Jefferson Middle School
Wed., April 29, 2015 - Bullock Creek High School
